Western Union at best is a major ripoff.
Used them a couple of times as there was no other way to send funds quickly but since getting involved with bitcoin I've never been back to WU and doubt I ever will.

i do agree with you that not only western union, all other options are failed against bitcoin transfering. very easy without giving any information and sending to anyone anytime

nice to know it  im not have family in other country im never try use WU but im sure if more people know bitcoin, Western Union will scared to lost  |

Once I sent an amount X and they charged me 25% of that amount on fees. With Bitcoin I would have probably paid 1000+ times less than that. |

Western union and money gram are sneaky thieves. They are low in transaction speed and the costs are higher the poorer the destination of the money is.
Of course Bitcoin is way more better and efficient than those services. But these companies exist since a long time and you can not make them disappear over night. It will happen but it will take some time.

We in this forum already know Bitcoin is much better and cheaper than all other alternatives. But what I want is that the average Joe's of this world get to see this and finally start ditching shitty companies as WU, PayPal, etc.

It's an outdated but well entrenched model
Any service that can out do them in receiving money, sending money and converting money will win out in time.
We just need a full service business to get it started but 2/3 on the edge is a good start.

There is no doubt Bitcoin is hundred times more better than any existing money transfer services in the market.I often use bitcoin to send money and receive money and it is cost effective,fast,secure and easy to perform than other methods.

BTCitcoin has no comparison with this shit oldies system and it doesn't make sense to go for it, BTCitcoin is totally unique fast and without any restriction so that is really future of the currency and will be of new era of world wide transaction.

Bitcoin is symbol of change and change is coming with speed soon Western union or similar money transfer services with become part of past.They can not compete with Bitcoin because of their expenses to run their services where Bitcoin can be used from anywhere at anytime from home or office at very low costs and more faster.

BITCOIN IS BETTER THAN WESTERN UNION ? ofc it is, but no only better than western union, is better than everything  well the truth is that bitcoin still need some improvements, like the speed ( yes bitcoin users should wait only seconds to made his payments ) but even with all those required improvements is better than all known  |

Governments sometimes say Bitcoin has a bad image because hackers and scammers can ask for payment in it. However Western Union has been used by the Nigerian prince scammers for years and no governments talk about restricting its use, regulating it further, or banning it. IMO the dark side of Western Union is far worse than the dark side of Bitcoin.

I've already saw this image last year when I was still a newbie on bitcoin and that picture somehow convinced me to use and spread the word of bitcoin to some of my relatives overseas as they use WU to transfer money to their loved ones here on the Philippines. They loved the less fees, faster transaction feature of bitcoin and until now they still use bitcoin to send money. Bitcoin is no doubt better and maybe the best  |

Until Bitcoin can be redeemed at countless thousands of street corners around the globe, it most definitely isn't better than WU. It is in concept, and even more so if there wasn't any need to convert it, but it remains a theoretical advantage for now.

Guys don't even get me started on Western Union. I mean banks are something, but these guys are worse than banks, governments and drug dealers together with their insane fees. I am telling you, I don't think that Bitcoin need to destroy banks in order to make it but I want that we destroy Western Union. Let it be written in history that we have destroyed WU one day! |
