ffcitatos has been kind enough to extend an offer to me of 5BTC for one week at 10% interest.  Even though I don't especially need the loan since I'll have extra cash tomorrow I decided it would be a good way to build up a positive reputation for the community I hope to participate in for the long haul.    I am in the process of complying to his terms for identification and adding this thread is  part of the requirements.

He will be lending 5BTC
I will repay with 10% interest
I will repay on or before 11/18/12

He can send coins to this address: 1JdHapCmcJqSTXbcRUfCohPPUkuq72kCDH

Thanks ffcitatos!

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

PSST.  If you're trying to build rep, don't say you're doing a transaction just to build rep.

Dudes, what else do you suggest? Time machine? I think heart_mons is being honest here and he should be rewarded for that, not made fun of.

I think what he's saying is that a typical scammer will pretty much get a bunch of small loans and then turn around and try and get a big loan...

"Hey look, I paid all these loans so I've got to pay this one." Then just go into hiding.

Like always I think this is up to the person loaning the BTC. If he/she wants to give them money for a new rig, build rep, or even go out and pop some bottle with a couple buddies -- So be it. As long as they think the person will pay back that's all that matters. IMHO anyways.

FWIW, I listed his threads up in the "How to spot a scammer" thread as soon as they went up.  And I also initially flagged his account in the "Post-count pumpers (soon to be scammers)" thread (albeit not for post-count pumping). I hope I'm wrong!

It is impossible to win here.

Anyway, I'm waiting to hear back from ffcitatos via email so I can send the repayment and I'll post the details here.  I gave him photo identification so I don't see why it would benefit me to scam anyone.
