Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

It is your life, make it what you want it to be.

If you want to go outside more, go outside more.
If you want to commit yourself to Bitcoin, commit yourself to Bitcoin.

I'm sure you'll find a way of making a balance. Smiley

How is Bitcoin the reason you are coding/programming/earning money ?

Do you only code because of Bitcoins? And you only earn money because you earn it in bitcoins?

Do whatever feels right to you, man

You can't blame Bitcoin for your own bad habit, the one that you should blame is yourself

Treat BTC as an investment, not a lifestyle. What is intriguing  about coins is the technology behind it - the public ledger known as the blockchain. Apart from the technology, you have an ecosystem around it. It's fascinating. Look at the amount of support on this forum.

You should do whatever makes you happy. If you enjoy spending time programming and such you should go for it. But don't forget to keep a balance between spending time on your PC as well as with friends and family.
I'm doing exactly the same, I spend most of my days behind my PC but I make time for friends and family during the weekend.

I wouldn't necessarily say they are bad habits unless you are literally addicted to Bitcoin and it is preventing you from living your life properly.

If you feel like you are addicted and need help, this is not the place to look for it. If you want help for something like that, you would need to see a specialist.

It sounds more to me like you just need to find a better balance in life, though. Which is easier to fix than you would think. Smiley

Well, if you're in a situation like that... you should spend time with the people you love, if they scold you or talk shit like that, I wouldn't want to spend time with them either and would rather do something productive with my time like you are doing by learning something new or finding ways to earn bitcoins.
You said in your first post that you used to do stuff outside, if you still enjoy doing that, go for it.

Do you mean that you cherish a social life where no one respects you?

Living outside the United States, I can tell you Bitcoin has made my life WAY easier.  Just one minor example, yesterday I saved $5 in gas in the headache of an hour in traffic (3rd world traffic is so so bad).  I needed to refill my phone's minutes and was able to do it online with Bitcoin and not even leave my house.   I won't say the website or it will look like this was a plug, and it is not.  That is just one example of Bitcoin making my life so so much better.  I have many others.

I'm facing the same addiction here. Can't really argue it, anything that feels good, usually have a addictive effect. Before getting to know Bitcoin, I was still most of the time at home, playing PC games but ever since, can't remember the last time I played games. Earning is great but having a way to balance that with your own private or social life is the key. Everything of something is always bad so try to not go crazy if you want to be normal in the eyes of others.

That s not Bitcoin my friend, that s common greed. You ve discovered ways to make money online and now they stop u from spending time with your friends. You could do it for nuts instead of BTC, if nuts had equal value equal to Bitcoin.

There's actually nothing wrong with that kind of crazy but I believe it's healthier if you balance certain things in your life. It's nice to earn money, but money isn't everything if you got nobody around you. You need to have a bit of a social life to feel human. That's what I believe, I don't feel human when I'm sitting in my room behind my computer all day. I need to have people around me every now and then. It doesn't mean that I don't get by by myself though, I manage to do everything by myself but the emotions of feeling human needs to feed of off something.

There's nothing wrong with bitcoin being a big part of your life especially if you're tech gifted & can make money from it.

Don't let it consume you & take over your life, it's nearly Christmas, chill out & enjoy spending time with friends & family then maybe you'll be refreshed & motivated to hit it hard again in the New Year.

Coders are always needed, the time you are investing in getting to know various coding languages is a great investment in your future. I would just try to find a midway solution for having fun with friends, but also to keep doing your coding work. You can do both.
