I don't think it will die, but it's not going to get the amount of attention it has been getting.

Like what the post above said, LTC will not die even if bitcoin solved is problem. Even if it has only segwit going with it right now and fast confirmation of transactions and cheaper fees compared to bitcoin it will still be a good coin to hedge into when bitcoin price movements are going crazy. Also, it would be just like silver and it would just get lesser attention than what it experience now but it will definitely have some value in it after all, it is meant to be the silver of cryptocurrency.

I can say no, ltc will never die, in the world gold and silver exist and used together for thousands of years. It is sometimes loadstar for bitcoin as in the case of segwit.

I don't think LTC will die but it might be forgotten or if not it will be undervalued in the next few years because of bitcoin and some other coins and tokens recently that has more potential in the future. Not unless if they would collaborate on a certain coin for their coin to be upraised again.

LTC will never die. Yes there are a lot of nice projects but too many bag holders for LTC.
Its the mother of All Altcoins. If LTC dies all altcoins die too.

if BTC will solve its Problems?

bitcoin never had any serious problems to now solve them!
and litecoin has been a very strong coin from the start which is also nearly as old as bitcoin now. you won't find any altcoin that can survive a year let along this long like litecoin did and still be worth $40+

soon you will see how litecoin will start a big rally and overtake the position that it deserves.

Buying the dip...

Do not give hope.Believe in satoshi lite.
Crowd has already accepted it as silver.
LTC definitely has future and much better developer.

Bitcoin will never solve its problems in full. The community is already divided and about to be divided even more.

That being said both BTC and BCC are a much better pick than LTC.

LTC has never done anything but marketing. It doesn't need SegWit, it's far from filling its blocks, it offers nothing innovative and by the looks of it it never will.

Charlie Lee will not let his creation die, but LTC will simply never find an use case imho.

And even if it does, I can't see a copycat coin become the shining star of anything. So if you're in this for profit, you should look elsewhere. Even if LTC goes up, it's going to be as a result of the whole market going up, and LTC will not be amongst the biggest winners.

LTC will not die, at least not any time soon. But it may no longer be the "silver" it used to be. There are just too many altercoins around and many of them are pretty good.

I hope it 'dies' a little bit before 2019. but who knows, maybe it will gain it's true value even before that.

It will never die... if you study the altcoins that have had a decent amount of marketcap for a long time, they never die. They fade into irrelevancy, but for me total death means no hashrate, which would lead to a collapse of the network, and therefore collapse of the price (actually would be the opposite, first comes the collapse in price, then collapse in hashrate, then that's a downstairs spiral into actual death.

As a long as a coin has some hashrate, some market activity, and some development, that's a coin that's alive, and LTC will remain alive.

There are tons of coins with less opportunity and usefulness than LTC so I don't see it going away anytime soon.  It may not be the best place to invest fiat but I don't think it'll die anytime soon.

There are many projects that have done a small fraction of what LTC has and is still alive today.  LTC will always be around as long as there's still cryptocurrency.
