[EDIT2] Should have mentioned, the tool I've used to watch it happen live is the windows version of flatfly's chainsnort ( official thread). WOW. Anyone able to trace the wallet and see if there are any connections to known wallets? I'm a noob at that and can't tell if it's easy or hard to do, or if there are any programs/websites to help with that.

I think you mean 2009. GPU mining was already pretty competitive in 2010. People assume that there was a period of years where lots of people did/could-have run the qt client and CPU-mined fortunes. That's just not the case. |

That was my first observation, also. It's fascinating to me whenever one of these huge sums gets transferred. That has to be a tense couple moments, transferring a sum that large. |
