Bitstamp introduces volume discount program

May 12, 2012

Bitstamp, the easy to use European based bitcoin exchange is proud to announce our new volume discount program. To make Bitstamp even more competitive, we have introduced a volume discount program that rewards our customers based upon their trade volume. Transaction fees start at a low 0.50% and with volume are now as low as 0.20%.

Details:
  • Volume discounts are now enabled for all customers.
  • The transaction fee is calculated based on the USD total of a customer’s last 30 days of transactions.
  • The account balance page now details the customer’s current transaction fee rate and their 30 day volume.

Fee schedule: https://www.bitstamp.net/fee_schedule/

We have many new features under development designed to make obtaining and securing Bitcoin even easier for people new to Bitcoin.

This is great! This is one of the things Bitcoin needs:

  • A transaction fee price war.
  • A responsive service war.
  • A SEPA fee war: Bitstamp has Free SEPA deposits, and 0.90 € SEPA withdrawals.
  • A SEPA speed war: Most Bitstamp transfers happen next day.
  • A feature war.

Exchange competition for the win. Smiley

What is your stance on fees for liquidity providers?

Fees are adjusted according to trading volume and can be as low as 0.20%. I think we offer excellent conditions for arbitragers and trading individuals. However we are always opened for business cooperation proposals. If you have business proposal send me PM or add me on skype kodric.nejc, I am happy to discuss it.

Best regards!

Isn't competition awesome?  Grin

We now have an exchange with a "rake back" program for day traders trading bitcoins. Excellent idea!  Cool

That was my concern too, but after I realized their exchange fee is close to nothing (if not nothing, I'm not sure), I didn't see any need.
