Bitcoin is better than any other cryptocurrency for a simple reason that other cryptocurrency such as Litecoin and Dogecoin could hardly be used to purchase for retail commodities even if they are accepted by the dealers. And they are usually used for investment or storage value.

Other Cryptocurrencies are just copies of this idea and project, without wider support from the public.
Right now, bitcoin is the only Cryptocurrency with potential to become mainstream, globally accepted.

I do not agree, there are many alts that have developed further upon and also have good security.
The only reason bitcoin would be better is because of the adoption rate. But with LTC and Doge you can buy a lot as well these days, probably over 100,000 merchants accept them. Bitcoin is so slow, shouldn't take 45 minutes to transfer, many coins transfer in one or two minutes.

You don't say, Captain Obvious  . This is what us bitcoiners continually tell these altcoiners but they never listen. They just think they've missed out on the btc train and want to try get rich quick off another alt. without merchant adoption these alts will never go anywhere.

well, Bitcoin is the ORIGINAL idea for the whole cryptocurrency thing and others are just copies or immitations in other words, and sometimes with some innovations or changes but nothing significant YET.

They could if they wish, but that would cost them way too much money and time. For the fed the cons will outweigh the pros to do so.

And why would they want that anyway? Bitcoin at this point is not a threat, and probably will not be a threat for the fed in the future.

You doing something wrong sir, all I have to do is wait few seconds after I send transaction, then I can close my wallet and power off computer. My transaction was always confirmed this way so far.
