Hash Rate / CPU Comparison Table

are you sure that you are using all cores?
~800 khash/s seems like your using a single core only.

you can also try jgarzik's cpu-miner with the 4way-switch, to squeeze out some more hashes, it doubles the hash-rate on my AMD X3 720, not sure what it does to your i5 though.

Thank you; I set the parameters to use all of the cores available and the client started to obtain ~1800 khash/s. There seems to be a large fluctuation between the hash rates, though - the range of the hash rates is 750-1800 khash/s.

I'm surprised that the 6-core AMD is getting great numbers.  It's beating the pants off the 980x.  I'll try compiling the bitcoin client with the microsoft or intel compilers.  The intel compiler should definitely generate much faster code.

EDIT: Update.  Using a CPU miner with 12 threads I got the CPU to pump out 19200 khash/s using the 4way algo.

EDIT: Update.  Clocked the 4.4 Ghz system back down to 3.33, and started using bitcoin-miner v0.10.  Big performance improvement.  Also update GPU performance to reflect what I'm currently seeing with m0mchil's GPU miner.

my guess would be the 4way-switch, improvement on Phenom II X3 from 3800 to 7200khash, it just wasn't available/useful for windows until jgarzik's cpu-miner came along.

updated my CPU-table above.

You're right.  I jumped to 19000ish once I started using the 4way algo of the cpu miner.

However, it's still nothing compared to the 5870.
