Let's hope we will see an exponential growth.

I think it will be far more than that by 2019

"In 2014, there were just 1.3 million BTC users throughout the world, which means global community is expected to grow threefold in just 5 years."

Oh, I thought we are at about 2mils now? Still, the current number of bitcoin users is incredibly low considering the fact that we're in the middle of digital era. BTC is so revolutionary imo, it should already have well over 100mil users by now, but, changing views and opening minds seems a hard process at times  ;)

We are in the early 90's of the internet in terms of both the tech development and the adoption. It will take at least 10 years for proper adoption. But at the middle of the way (5 years) it will be obvious already that Bitcoin is the ultimate game changer.

You know, all this is wild speculation. There is no proven method to predict BTC's growth.

Me too, though this is of course wishful thinking on my part. I think the remittance market alone could be used by that figure but whether it will or not we'll just have to wait and see.

You know, all this is wild speculation. There is no proven method to predict BTC's growth.

But you know how much people like to speculate. Sometimes that's all their is to do to keep yourself occupied when btc activity is slow. Nice to think/dream about, though.

it seems a low numbers, if we consider that we are already at 2.5 M +, i doubt it will rise on by another 2 millions, in 4 years, would mean that bitcoin is dying or was unsuccessful

Let's hope we will see an exponential growth.
Hoping is useless. According to the article, the adoption is not meeting its potential. What does this mean? This means that we can act on it. Considering the amount of people that will have access to internet by 2019, 4.7 million users is a very low number. I'm not saying that this is accurate. This could be very wrong actually. Even Andreas said that we shouldn't predict beyond 2 years in the future, and even then the chances of being wrong are quite high.
We must act accordingly, while we still have time. What if we could grow the number of users to  47 million in the same time frame?

Lets say we are at a modest 1.5million users as we speak, how hard is it to get to the predicted figure?

Out of us 1.5million users if we have one million pro active users who can explain well what this is then that 4+million target is easy because we just had to introduce a few people each within 4 years and the kicker they will introduce people after a year or 2 of being here.

That goal should be so easy to reach if everyone done something about it, together that prediction will be smashed to pieces it could go well beyond that at a rapid place if we all pull our finger out.

They are about to go exponential themselves. By the end of this year there'll be at least five users.
