Title: scammed... is there way to find the person with bitcoin address?
Post by: sixlibra on March 27, 2015, 12:32:16 AM
I got scammed for 400 USD by a guy supposed named Rufino Gallo. I paid him btcs for advertising services and he did not reply and disappeared. He has also scammed others in the past, now I found out http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/shit-list/746449-rufinollc-scammer-fb-ads-account.html   . I have his bitcoin address and his old localbitcoins profile, which is banned now too. Is there anyway for me to catch this scammer with the info I have?

I doubt it if you will ever get your money back from this guy, just try to use an escrow next time when dealing with people online and try to check those people who you will be dealing first before making a transaction. Good luck!

Not really i mean what are you going to do if you did catch up with him? The Bitcoin is probably already spent  ???

Just take it as a lesson learned you should have no need to pay upfront for a service anyway and you could have used a reputable escrow which would have covered you and him if he never wanted to use escrow you would have know early on.

Mind me asking what kind of advertising the $400 was for?

Maybe you should move this to scam accusations or just wait and a mod will probably move it to the right place.

If he has been using that bitcoin address in the past on other sites, then you will be able to cause him some harm, by say he has a bitcointalk account then he will be negative trusted.

You could just google the address along with keywords like bitcointalk or reddit. But it would not bring you your coins back.
