Get another card and try to use atiflash (http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/2099/ATIFlash_3.95.html) on linux or dos. Guide to Video BIOS flashing (http://www.techpowerup.com/printarticle.php?id=34).

if atiflash doesn't see the card, you could try this http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=115240 (http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=115240)

Cable unplugged warning is the problem, you can't get to any OS and flash it. BTW cables are plugged in and working.

You need to install it as a second card and flash it with a FreeDOS utility.
This means you'll need a working card to boot your system with and the correct BIOS file.

if none of those work you need to look on youtube and on this forum there is a guy that had the same problem. he had to bybass the rom on the card to get it to boot to where he could reflash it to the right bios.but you got to atache wires here and there so.

Ah yes! I once flashed bios 1 to bios 2 and bios 2 to bios 1. Same error, no power connected and you can't get anywhere, even with a second card.

Solution? Simple (hopefully for you too) I found a setting in my bios for "halt on error" (can't remember exactly) but basically, there was a setting in there that I could tell the system to completely ignore errors on boot (I think specifically from add on cards etc). Hope this helps!

If not, PM me and we can work out you sending the card to me and I'll reflash it for ya.

Good luck, give us an update if it works!

a lot of cards have a little switch on the top, dual bios cards... wreck 1 bios you still have another.

I thought that was only Gigabyte cards?

I had a similar problem where i was doing a remote bios 6950 to 6970 flash and flashed it to a 5970.No software flash utility would work in windows or in dos. I had to short the flash rom first. If you can't force flash it you will have to jump pin 1 to 8 on the flash rom. One is on the front of the card the other is on the back. Jump the pins on the flash rom for the bios you flashed. Here is a link that should get you back up and running.

I can do the WRite enable (a.k.a. shorting) (using a professional soldering station) for you. The charge is $25, you pay 2-way shipping US only. No guarantees that the card will work after that, but I will do my best effort to re-flash / revive it.

PM me if interested.
