Title: Buying BTC with paypal (just want 0.2BTC)
Post by: gogodr on March 29, 2015, 03:05:14 AM
Its not a lot of money, just recently I went to the US and spent most of my bitcoin.(I live in Peru)
I just don't like looking at my empty bitcoin wallet.
I have some trust, though its not a lot. I'm not a merchant, most of my bitcoin I got working for it.
If you are willing to sell me the 0.2 or less at preev rate for paypal $, send me a PM :D
Thanks.

You're going to have a hard time finding anyone who is willing to sell you BTC with Paypal as it can be charged back. Your best option is try to see if you can get it verified than just cash it out and buy BTC from it.

I know, but some people are willing to. It would not be my first time buying BTC with paypal.
What do you mean by getting it verified? the paypal account? Mine is a Premier account and it is verified.

not yet, I'm going to give him a day before I start looking into how to make those charge backs people fear so much.
I really have no idea on what's the procedure to do that.

If you think that me removing my Trust rating for him will in any way affect his decision or speed in which he sends you your coins, you are mistaken.

I suppose it's time you do a chargeback for your safety

I'm going to wait until  tomorrow and if  he doesn't send the BTC I'll use the paypal resolution center.
that's where I should look to make the charge back right?

I just wanted some btc...

its just 50$, its not the end of the world, but that would be a real downer..
So far I had no real  problems with bitcoin transactions, it being my first time sucks...

I hate it how It is so hard to get BTC if you are not from the US...

well its up to you that $50 is alot in some countries, so yeah they will really scam for that amount. I would pretty much do a chargeback already since that newbie didn't give you the btc immediately

Its your call if you're really going to trust a newbie..

Why wait? He had no intention of sending you any BTC to begin with. You're just giving him more time to withdraw.

I haven't, it's my first time. I just opened a dispute in the virtual goods category for not receiving my item.

I will take that offer if it can wait a couple of days.

Sadly, that guy took 50$ from my debit account and I just had 60$ there.
I need to get more dollars. (I'm from Peru and the currency used here is Soles, I just use Dollars for buying stuff online)

I believe he will not reply to the dispute , it's your win but as i have heard ( not sure) you should not state it as Virtual Item( Bitcoin specifically) , Virtual item is fine i think.
Good luck with it!

Really? I heard that paypal is starting to bet for bitcoin, so I thought it would be ok.
My payment message did say that the 50$ were for 0.2BTC.
I just hope everything goes alright.. like I said, if it doesn't, 50$ is not the the end of the world, but I would really like to get that money back.

Thanks for the concern and help :D

I'm willing to do small transactions like this usually, hate newbies after the market price :) msg me and refer to this thread :)

Ok, I have $ again in my bank account. (I had other priorities more important than going to exchange dollars to buy bitcoin)

Anyone willing to sell me 50$ (0.2~ BTC) worth of bitcoin ?
