Title: Seeking legal advice for selling large amounts UK
Post by: SureLockLoans on March 31, 2015, 01:57:38 AM
Hello

so in the future I plan on selling large amounts of Bitcoin which I personally gained legitamatly either through mining or trading. Buying low selling high what ever the case may be. When I want to sell these Bitcoins here in the UK (Up to as much as 250k) What would I need to make this legal and not case any legal problems?

Would I need any licenses or would I need to maybe sell lower amounts in a specific time frame?

All help is appreciated.

Consult a lawyer in your jurisdiction, not on the internet.

declare them and pay the taxes, and you won't have any problem with any amount, just be sure to have all the movements from which you have gained those, so you can prove that those money were earned legally

Thanks for the help I know about claiming taxes and what not but just wondering if there was any other requirements after reading about a few people getting possible prison time because of selling to high volumes on local bitcoins even though that was in the US

The US is an extremely different legal environment to the UK.

Are you talking about selling them to individual people or via markets and exchanges?

They're your property, so it's your right to sell any amount of them. It might trip money laundering alerts but as long as you can account for where it's all from it'll be fine.

I don't think any bank account of yours would last very long doing constant trades though. That would be a much bigger problem.

Consult a lawyer in your jurisdiction, not on the internet.

As above.

For legal advice contact a authorised and qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction.

For tax advice contact a authorised and qualified chartered accountant in your jurisdiction.

For legal advice in England contact www.selachii.co.uk
