Title: Switch Speed Post by: cflocation on April 02, 2015, 11:24:28 PM Does it matter if I use a 10/100 switch for mining or do I need a gigabit.

Title: Re: Switch Speed Post by: mavericklm on April 03, 2015, 06:08:51 PM The miners only sends&receives only few kb per second!
As said above even an 10megabit switch is more than enough ;) Title: Re: Switch Speed Post by: cflocation on April 03, 2015, 08:03:31 PM Thanks for the info that is what I am currently running and I just wanted to make sure I was not loosing any hashing power.

Most ISP connections (even cable and FiOS or something similar) are like 5-8 Mbps, once the signal is split out among everyone in your neighborhood.

A lot of places at this point have fiber and you can get 50+ on speed. My town is not the most technological yet they have ran fiber through the whole town. But either way no miner needs that kinda speed. They use very little bandwidth.
