Is its a rule that auction must have a end date. Where it is posted that action must have end date. Because some time it is happened that last bid at highest rate would be the last date.

Auctions need to have an end date so that the highest bidder gets to take the product at that bid else in this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1005469.0 the auction will go on till dooms day  :-\

I guess the member just forgot to add an end date.

Oh sorry! I didn't knew it was compulsory.. Its until the highest bidder comes on and sends payment to an escrow :) waiting for the bidder to come online..

I don't think auctions without an end date are not allowed. They are allowed and should be, the seller has the right to stretch the auction till he feels that's no more people are interested(this happens only when people are not in a hurry to sell their product and if someone needs to sell the thing fast then he can set an end date). It all depends on the person who is auctioning and so AFAIk this isn't against the forum rules.

It is not an auction with no end date and should be in goods. He is just taking offers in my opinion.

An Auction is something that is supposed to end in a time. If you think about the real world auctions, then they do the going once going twice...thing. They don't just say going once...you have won the auction, but we will hold onto the product till we get a better offer.
Without the time it seems it would only be a sale, where the seller is taking up offers, and selling it to the highest one.

Shouldn't be called an auction. It should be under the Digital Goods section, with "taking offers" in the title. Or even in the digital goods section with a bidding type of format similar to an auction, just not under the Auction forum. Needs to be a time frame for every auction otherwise it's not fair to the highest bidders.

I don't think they're against the rules, considering who creates most of this kind of auctions:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996061.0
(although at least a time frame for a possible end of the auction is given)

As long as the OP clearly states this condition and the rules don't change at any time I don't see any problem. People is free to chose whether or not to bid.

well, the one that I'm talking about doesn't even have that.

but looks like the mods didn't remove that. so I guess such kind of auctions IS allowed.
a staff voicing out their opinion would help a bit, but meh.

Oh!
I really forgot to put an ending date in that one!
However we already have an bidder but he isn't online since 2-3 days! Bid until the previous highest bidder comes online is accepted :)
Sorry if it was against the rules!

Maybe the bidder wasn't serious at all at the time of placing the bid and that's why he hasn't showed up.
It would be nice if you announce an end date (like 24hours after the last/first bid or something like that) on the auction thread itself.
