Title: CoPay Wallet Experiences
Post by: thebitcoinquiz.com on April 05, 2015, 07:45:02 PM
Hey!
A few weeks ago I found a bitcoin wallet that is supported on windows phone. The name of the wallet was CoPay.
Its the first and the only wallet for windows phone.
It allows me to receive and send bitcoins. Also it has feature to backup your wallet (it emails you the backup) with the private keys. It also lets me create new address.
A few missing things were- other apps cannot coordinate with it to make payments, cannot sign messages and verify messages.

Also wanted to know that do I need to be worried while using this wallet and what are your experiences with it?

Hello, here from Copay 's developer.

The link affects for an old version of Copay. Right now, the published version is v0.10.5 and it doesn't have these problem.

Regarding to use an online wallet (like blockchain) is really insecure, because any trojan or virus (or any website with malicious code) could read your data from localStorage (blockchain and old copay 's web version used to use localStorage). So, the new version is working on iOS, Android, WP and ChromeApp, that store encrypted information and these are only readable from the application itself.

My recommendation is not use an online (web) wallet to manage your funds.

I tried CoPay for a bit, but it's a bit lackluster in terms of customization for me.

Then again, for novice users, it offers everything they need :)

Depends on personal preference tbh!

Well its a pretty basic wallet and things have been going smooth for me and its something's better than nothing cuz on windows phone, its the only wallet that we can use. Also I would love to see other windows phone wallets rolling out in the future.

Oh I agree, Windows Phone platform needs more Bitcoin wallet options soon.

I participated in CoPay Beta test(iOS). UI is good but the features need to improve. It is still a good wallet for novice users.
