Title: FOOD CHALLENGE: Make $100 in BTC
Post by: FutureMoneyTrends on April 08, 2015, 04:39:43 AM
* UPDATED 9:22 PM UTC 2015-04-09*
AWAITING ENTRY from fdylstyx, ANY NEW CONTENDERS ARE NOT GUARANTEED ANY COMPENSATION

I have a food challenge I'm willing to pay one candidate to see completed for $100 in bitcoin (full $100 only if follow all rules; if something's not right I'll have to lower compensation)

You have to make a video and put on youtube.

Challenge: Taco Bell & Watermelon Combo

version 1:
eat 1,400 calories of taco bell in morning
eat 6lbs or 700 calories of watermelon flesh 8hrs later (or at night)

version 2:
eat 1,200 calories of taco bell food
and eat 4lbs of watermelon flesh

REQUIREMENTS:
You pick whether you like version 1 or 2. Bonus if you do both on separate days
Film yourself eating all required items.
Film the after effects up to a whole 2 hours after completion (What happens with your digestion?)
TACO BELL items must be any regular meal options (any combo of tacos, burritos or taco salads); no beverages, deserts or sides.

You can obviously summarize but it would be best to get any big reactions ON camera. If you can't edit and want to just record the full time frame that is fine I can do the editing to put up the challenge video on YouTube.

If you'd rather do the challenge in private maybe I'd offer you something less.

"Future Money Trends wont be held responsible if there is an after effect with the digestion system after someone do the challenge"

I like your challenge but in my area I don't have any Taco Bell shop
But I have Kebab kings, Can I replace with that ?  ;D

Escrow will be a good choice if you want to make this challenge more serious

I cannot see how either of these would be in any way a good idea for someone to do. Eating 4 pounds of anything in one day is not going to be healthy.

Also how exactly do you measure the weight of the watermelon as the shell is going to be heavy when compared to what you eat and it is going to be made up of a lot of water/juice.

Lol for randomness. These items are not easily accessible for me to purchase or else I might considering doing it - using escrow.

Hello. Can you explain first what would be the possible outcome if a person eat all of those foods?

you probably won't die

how exactly do you measure the weight of the watermelon as the shell is going to be heavy when compared to what you eat and it is going to be made up of a lot of water/juice.

This is about a 16lb watermelon. 40% of the weight is the rind so that would have 9.6lb's of flesh so for this you'd eat around half of it in one sitting
http://cache4.asset-cache.net/gc/200464159-001-man-holding-watermelon-to-ear-in-gettyimages.jpg?v=1&c=IWSAsset&k=2&d=AOad2fiyoSOhLARiSTVvRvU0f6S6%2b1gOi2UXu4GZ3fWK9DClCSM%2bBVv2FYtMRcNmN1FhCdA60LpgqW7KQ4fM5w%3d%3d

Since there's quite a few bids; anyone down for $50 for it? Can send in escrow; who's a good escrow person?

Also we should have feedback for our account. And we do represent a big enough organization; Future Money Trends

This is a hazardous job, after completing the challenge you'll probably be spending some time in the toilet, just sayin'  ;D
Why does it specifically have to be TB?

I can take nutrition facts of alternate suggestions. Taco bell just fits the bill of what I'm trying to test; and it's typical for the american diet.

Title: Re: FOOD CHALLENGE: Make $100 in BTC
Post by: FutureMoneyTrends on April 08, 2015, 09:34:22 PM

That is NOT "typical for the American diet".

the closest this menu might fit a segment of the American population are vegetarian Olympian, jogger/runners, fighter/boxers, or elite athlete, or pro IN THEIR PRIME who load up on dense proteins in the morning to burn it off during training and "evacuate" everything at the end of the day to maintain a specific weight.

It is not healthy for anyone outside of a specific purpose diet (like above), it is dangerous for any man under 150 lbs and just about any woman.  Unless the body is trained for this it will get a major shock.  An active man over 225 lbs might be a good test subject for this foolishness but you better make sure he loads up on vitamins before and after the challenge so he has a chance of maintaining some of this vital nutrition.

The watermelon alone has the possibility to literally KILL you
http://chemistry.about.com/cs/5/f/blwaterintox.htm
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0MmCKaFJmoU

A major shock? I think 99% of people would just flatly disagree with you. You may be up on your nutrition; but this is just two slightly large meals; that's it. That's why this experiment is needed

You also wrongly equated eating a fruit to drinking water

It's also not abnormally high water content compared to almost all other Fruits/Vegetables
http://www.livestrong.com/article/350652-percentage-of-water-in-fruits-vegetables/

According to the same article; men need 125oz (3.7 liters) of water daily. It would require 8.5lbs of melon just to get this amount of daily water. It is also very rich in electrolytes and vitamins; very healthy to eat. You should not be criticizing the watermelon part of this challenge at all.

So, wait.... let me get this absolutely straight, clear and with no confusion or misunderstanding at all.

If I go to Taco Bell, I can order anything I want from their menu, as long as it is equal to or greater than 1400 calories?

Then after 8 hours, eat 4 lbs of watermelon, are we talking total weight or rind removed? Not that it matters much, but i want clarification on it.

I will do it, for sure, once these clarifications have been clarified quite clearly.

 :P

I'm gonna hold you to your original post. Been a while since I've had anything from Tacco Bell. I've got to take public transit to get there so I hope it's still open. You gonna make me eat the watermelon seeds or can I spit them out? That's all I need for clarification.

I'm on my way right now.

This has actually been confirmed twice in this thread if you actually takes some times to think and read about it

This is about a 16lb watermelon. 40% of the weight is the rind so that would have 9.6lb's of flesh so for this you'd eat around half of it in one sitting

version 1:

eat 6lbs or 700 calories of watermelon 8hrs later (or at night)

version 2:

eat 4lbs of watermelon

By the words "eat" it should have been the flesh and not the rind

OK I'm back. Turns out there's no Taco Bell in Victoria anymore so I went to Taco Time then I went to Walmart and picked up 3 mini watermelons that weighed a total of 13 pounds. The skin is thin on those so should be no problem getting the weight I need to finish the challenge. it's been almost 2 hrs since I ate the Large Beef & Cheese Burrito @ 918 calories + a Large Mexi-Fries Deluxe @ 771 calories for a total of 1,689 calories intake during one sitting.

Almost spilled my water all over my phone as I was using it to prop up the camera angle. That would have been a disaster!

I haven't had a chance to check the recording to see if they're all time stamped but it will have been two hours since I finished eating my late breakfast challenge by the time I post this.

So OP, I read you'll edit and post to YouTube what I have when I'm done. That's good because I don't have a YouTube account and really don't want one at this time.

I record the weighing and eating of the watermelon in about 6 hrs from now. Tomorrow I'll do the second part of the challenge.

Have you found someone to escrow this by any chance? Guess I'll PM you for further instructions.

K, it's been a little more than two hours since I finished eating so I should record that fact to show I'm not turning green, or blue.

Dude...I shit you not...the video wasn't recording when I ate the damned meal...I just checked and it's not there...just me showing buying and then showing the food. I guess when I went to prop the phone up against the glass of water I must've inadvertently shut off the recording.

I could do it again tomorrow and make sure I get it right. I'll save the watermelon for tomorrow night and I hadn't noticed that it had to be 1400 calories of main courses because I was gone already and I was conserving battery for the recording so I wasn't keeping tabs on the thread.

If you've got a lot of others wanting to do this then I'll understand.

It is little sad that you only included Taco Bell as your source of meals. I live in EU and I don't have any Taco Bells in my vicinity. Could you please think of McDonald's or KFC challenge? Kebab & pizza is fine as well...
Or if you limit this challenge only to US it will fine too...

I sent some video to you, just to show you I was where I said I was. You can check the time stamp too.

If I'm going to do this right for you I think it best I start again in the morning and then tomorrow night eat the watermelon. Unless you have any time constraints.

Using Taco Time at least I can record the calories and show them. I don't mind the extra run tomorrow at all. Just want to straighten out my mess. I'll leave the decision to you.

Hello. Can you explain first what would be the possible outcome if a person eat all of those foods?

you probably won't die.
Lol thats a great quote, and what happens if someone does die, any compensation for that outcome?
I know it's a long shot.

I think the most they'd get is diarrhea or vomit; I'm not even sure that would happen in >10% of cases

maybe bloating; if you feel sudden pain and worried about your appendix then definitely go to the hospital, seek medical attention

I'm not feeling any worse for wear. I was real thirsty but I was holding off until I sat down in front of 6 pounds of watermelon. For me that's going to be the real challenge. Can't stand the taste of it.  :P Don't like sour tasting things either.

$100 USD worth of BTC is worth it. ;)

Hey Guys, it took me less than 10 minutes to eat what was in front of me. I feel no ill affects at all. To each their own.

Now I just want to get a few things straight from FutureMoneyTrends.

1/ You said I could stop recording and start recording as long as I show my watch and the time when I do record right?

2/ You said that you need clear video of the food and my hands showing the food going into my mouth to prove I'm not cheating right?

3/ You said the calories could not be counted from beverages, deserts or side dishes right?

4/ You said I should record any adverse affects I might experience within two hours after eating each stage. Does this mean you want to have me record eliminating anything in a normal way? Or are you just wanting me to record any vomiting or other unfortunate mishaps?

5/Those mishaps, if any, only count for the 2 hours after the consumption of both courses of the challenge right?

6/ You said you've sent $40.00USD in bitcoin to devthedev for escrow and will send the $60.00 balance in a couple days right?

7/ I'd like to be able to send you the video once I know the funds are in escrow. As in confirmation from devthedev that it is there.

8/ I'll forward the videos to both you and devthedev as proof that I've done my part.

9/ Is there a time limit for me to get those videos to you? If so would you agree to within 12 hours of confirmation that devthedev has your end?

10/ I am not a doctor, some folks think I might do myself harm. I am taking a possible serious risk, one that you have clearly stated that you are not responsible for if something should happen. I accept those terms and hope for the best. Will you address these 10 points so that we all know what page we're on?

I feel the need for clarity on these points because although I might not have a problem with 1.5 pounds of breakfast, even two days in a row, but 6 pounds of watermelon is where I believe I'm really gonna be earning those satoshis. These watermelons are seedless but I just very well might be projectile vomiting those satoshis all over the bleeding hearts in my garden. And yes I'll do my best to catch that...as it happens...but I never did like throwing up. It makes me sick.  :P

Awaiting your reply FutureMoneyTrends...let me know if I've missed something. I already went full tilt into this thinking there was no limit to how many participants you were willing to compensate for completing this challenge. Now I know it's only one...and I'm it.

i made some research for you guys..

Although primarily considered safe and beneficial, 30 mg or more of the lycopene in watermelon can potentially cause adverse side effects. Consuming large amounts of lycopene-rich foods, such as tomatoes and watermelon, may result in gastrointestinal disturbances. The American Cancer Society reports that one investigation observed the effects of a lycopene-rich supplement on a patient. The patient took a tomato supplement containing 15 mg of lycopene twice daily and experienced intestinal problems such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, indigestion and bloating. (http://www.livestrong.com/article/410054-side-effects-of-eating-too-much-watermelon/)

goodluck guys..

Good to know dznuts85. Thanks for that, there must be a reason I don't like watermelon. That's the risk I take...I'll do a bit of research on my own but if all consuming 6 pounds amounts to is an intense system flush...I'm still game.

Wonder if FMT was aware of this and already knows what to expect.

You got a bet with a co-worker that you could get someone to eat 6 pounds of watermelon FutureMoneyTrend? Eh? Eh?

I'll check it out. Thanks for the concern guys. Much appreciated.

Ok...there are some risks involved in eating too much watermelon. Lowered blood pressure being one of them. Mine's a little high so maybe just this once won't be so bad. It can also cause arrhythmia. I have Nitro spray if I need it. I might blow a gasket and have to go in for another stent but I find that highly improbable.

Generally consuming watermelon in moderation has many health benefits. I think maybe after this I just might be able to get past the taste. Maybe the mini seedless ones I got at Walmart will taste better.

I'm good to go,

K, it's been a little more than two hours since I finished eating so I should record that fact to show I'm not turning green, or blue.

Thanks! well since you already determined on the challenge; its not really needed to escrow, I'll just send directly to you one I see the video

Uhm.. isn't the point of escrow a guarantee that he/she will get their money after the challenge? Anyways...

Hi FMT, I've been in touch with devthedev and I hope you don't mind me waiting until he lets me know he's got possession of the full $100 in BTC. It just seems the right way to go on this.

How about, in the meantime you check that list of 10 things I'd like confirmed/cleared up. I didn't go to Taco Time this morning because the silence was getting a little too loud.

I'm not sure which time zone you're in but I'm in Pacific Standard Time so that may be causing a few hiccups. It's 11:21 AM here.

Right. Recording after the taco's is not necessary but just your thoughts. After the watermelon comes the test of what that does; if vomit then try to record that; no nudity necessary; toilet action would be appreciated if happens; reactions on camera better etc. but I'd appreciate more thoughts in text after of what you felt and what you think happened.

Time to deliver video is fine. Risk is not that big but always up to you; you decided to eat these yes.

Yeah...I kinda got that it was all about the 6lbs of watermelon after realizing how easy it was to scarf down 1700+ calories at Taco Time.

I'm still down for this. Just gonna wait for devthedev to post here that it's a go.

Thanks for the follow up, I'm headed for the hills sometime this weekend. Signal's pretty weak but my girl's got a laptop with intermittent connection problems and I'll have my phone to record from there if it happens that devthedev posts. I'll bring the watermelons with me and just do a run down the mountain to a local Taco Time there.

In other words, I'm on it. ;)

Update.

I just got back from Taco Time about a half hour ago. I ate a Large Meat and Cheese Burrito again and this time I had a regular Ranch Chicken Burrito. A total of 1,404 calories.

I got a runny nose about half way through it so I may just be finding out I'm slightly allergic to gluten. Will have to discuss with my doctor.

The runny nose stopped as quickly as it began and I'm experiencing no other ill effects as of this time. I think we all agree that it's the watermelon part of this challenge that is risky. I've looked at a lot of information and I'm hoping the worst that will happen is a total system flush.

I am aware of the possible risk of appendicitis so, in saying that, I will not hold the OP responsible for what happens.

Got to go have my truck looked at in 20 minutes and it's been an hour and a half since I ate. I feel fine at this time.

Update;

I know I'm not computer savvy but this challenge is becoming both a blessing and a curse. :-\

I'll first state that other than some minor indigestion I suffered no ill affects from having competed this challenge up until the time of this posting. As a matter of fact I feel fine physically and don't anticipate any pain to come of it...and I will be looking into putting watermelon into my regular diet after learning about it's many benefits. Not too fussy about the taste but it no longer revolts me.

Mentally I'm struggling with learning how edit and add to a zip file the many videos I took with my phone. Halfway through the zips of 12 videos and then sending them to OP.

It's taking much longer than I anticipated for the files to compress and it's more than a little frustrating how much time this whole challenge is taking to complete. I'm missing the Masters Final.  >:(

I just hope I can email the zip file with no issues before sundown. Gives me about six hours to figure this all out.  :P

fdyl

Edit: I'm in no way encouraging, through the expression of my thoughts and deeds, anyone else to try this. I knew the risks I was taking through my own research, for my own needs to come to a decision...for myself! Those who see this, and later the videos, are in no way encouraged by this risky act.

Do your own research.

Just woke up and saw I received 0.4247 BTC from devthedev's escrow service. Courteous, prompt and professional service...tip sent!

Big shout out to FutureMoneyTrends who was a great help in getting me through the more grueling technical part of this challenge. Hardest part of the whole challenge. imo

I'm still unscathed from the whole eating and digesting part of the Food Challenge. All that's worth reporting is a little constipation from the unusually massive intake of burritos during one premature (test) sitting and then another 48 hrs later. I'm sure the watermelon is doing it's magic and everything will work it's way out...in the end.  :P

Overall a great experience with both the OP and devthedev.

So, what would you do for a bitcoin?  :D

This thread is getting long and I doubt many people will read through it but just to make it more clear regarding the calories I consumed in completing this challenge. I refer to this calorie chart at WebMD http://www.webmd.com/diet/estimated-calorie-requirement

As you can see what OP asked was not the impossible. I had one coffee, ate nothing else but the challenge that day so at tops I consumed no more than 2400 calories. Within the guidelines for recommended daily caloric intake.

It's now over 40 hours since I completed the eating portion of the challenge. I'm fine!

Note: Have not heard from OP in over 24hrs. I have my payment in full but still I'm a little concerned. He did ask for patience in providing the video edit so maybe he's working harder than I did...but I doubt it. :-\

To be honest, after having completed the first part of the challenge, eating 1200 calories from Taco Time and 4lbs of watermelon all in one sitting would probably be a lot harder to complete successfully. I'd probably need someone to hold my phone to video the spew from a safe distance. :D

It looks like no problems with the watermelon eating; even though the challenge was going from a low water high sodium (dehydrating) diet to a high water low sodium (hydrating, healthy and full of vitamins) diet.

Watermelon can do a lot of good apparently.

seems nice, but I would have to reveal my identity :(

I'm a nobody and therefor have no reason to hide my identity. Just another face in the crowd.

I am curious as to why you feel you would need to hide your identity though. Are you a somebody?
Many Big members or rich members might become target of abuse or forced-robbery if their identity is known , or something else . Some prefer keeping their identity secret , i mean that's one of the reason to use BTC . Doesn't matter if he is somebody or not

It's all good chronicsky. I was just bumping this up to see if OP is paying attention. I'm just curious about the progress on the edit.

And the second part of the challenge of course.  ;)

The OP hasn't been online for ~10 days , i hope to see his/your work too , it sounded interesting . i would have done it too if i had a tacobell around here.
Found his channel on Youtube : https://www.youtube.com/user/FutureMoneyTrends
Though there was a video 3 days ago but couldn't find your video :-\

Yeah, I was off grid for a while myself but when I got back today there was a PM from him from last week.

It was fun, I'm just glad I jumped on it even though there was no Taco Bell. I lucked out. Can't wait to see what FutureMoneyTrends comes up with next.

I do think that's where he'll be putting up the video. I have other ideas where it might be best to put it but I'm guessing I've got no say in the matter as I've already been paid for my part. Pity that though.

Hey OP PM me before you load it there will you? I've got an idea.  ;)

If he comes up with something that i can do (means i have it available in my area , no non-veg though) , i'd do it happily. I'd eat 2 watermelons too , i love'em :D :D :D

I'll bet you $50 USD in BTC that you couldn't eat 6 pounds of tempeh in 30 minutes chronicsky. If you throw up before you finish you lose the bet. You'll also have to video the action.

I'm sure devthedev would be happy to escrow. Winner pays his tip.

You game?

I've never heard of tempeh, but I've tried tofu. No way I could eat much of it. I like soy milk but not other soy products. They lack taste for me, as the meat eater that I am.

Where is here? If you have a place that carries Indonesian foods then they'll be able to hook you up.

Tempeh does a great job of absorbing flavours. I'm not fond of tofu either. Go figure eh?

East Asian? C'mon mannnn! Try harder. Search the alibaba.com site if you're really interested. I've seen more than a few recipes for Indian cuisine incorporate tempeh or tofu. Tempeh has a much more versatile texture than tofu.

Still, you don't gotta do nuth'n ya don't wanna.  ;)

Believe me , where i live , there's nothing of this sort . I would have loved to do it  but 6 pounds sounds too much anyway so i know i won't be able to.
Though i was curious about this tempeh thing . I can find Tofu though , but i don't like it either :(
