Paycoin and Gawminers/Zencloud were shady to me already at the start.

However I still managed to make some profit from it:
I had boughten some cloud mining before zencloud belonged to gawminers for approx 18$/mh. At the end I had over 20mh of hashpower hashing.
Suddenly the hashlets were introduced and I could upgrade my whole mining power to hashlets - some weeks later the hashlet prime cam out and I was able to sell my hashlets at a price of approx 38$/mh. That was a ton of profit PLUS the 1 month mining earnings. At the end I had over 700$ worth in bitcoi(~300$ profit) - thats when I first managed to really make money online. Thats what also the reason for me to really join bitcoin.
With that money I had online, I tried investing in other services. However the prices crashed again and fell day for day. My bitcoins were only worth no more than 450$. Some cloud mining services I have investd later were total scams and I lost alot of money (example pbmininh)
Paycoin was announced later the year. And the website btc.com was boughten by gawminers. They said paycoin will be worth 20$. Now its worth 0.4$.
If you lookup the first block from the paycoin blockchain, they premined 12.000.000 paycoins !!!
If the exchange rates were still 20$, the company would have made 240.000.000 $ in profit, just introducing a new coin.
And yes they did - they made alot of money at start, where the rates were high. Now they have the money - they dont care anymore what you make or do with the coin - its oficially dead

Stop spreading lies... this scam is very much alive and will likely continue with or without Homero behind bars.

Who does spread lies? The only thing is that it's dead. Yep they will probably continue till last drop of finnance will drop out of their customers.

How is it remotely dead? Homero is alive and free. The coin is still trading at 36 cents. There is an active community of diehard brainwashed users who want to continue to support this coin. Josh wants to continue this failed project out of hubris, naivete, or just to extract more from his victims. If Josh is locked up there is a good possibility that TeamXPY will continue this botched project.

Not even close to being dead ... will likely continue to slowly capitulate due to hyper inflation and less and less users.... but I can almost guarantee that due to the mindset of some of paycoin2 advocates will continue for at least another year and possibly much longer. Not all those accounts are shills... some are very real investors victims who are committed emotionally and financially to this project.

A disaster , yes.. but you guys have extremely odd definitions of "dead".

Based upon the code and design it was a stillbirth zombie from birth with almost no chance of success. But this isn't exactly news , as we have predicted all of these things before launch.

It was never good to begin with unless you count was good for the few and if that is the case it still is good for a few and is nowhere near dead, people was warned from the start that this was shady/scam and to stay away! How do so many people fall for it when it was everywhere to warn them is kind of funny. OP this should be in the altcoin section.

I hate to say it, but you are correct. The cult of Paycoin users will stand behind the it all even if Garza goes to prison and put him on a pedestal as a martyr for the cause.

Stop posting Altcoin junk in the Bitcoin general discussion. Paycoin is and was and has always been just a generic clone coin. People have been losing Bitcoin to Altchains for along time now, nothing new here.

wasnt this the pump n dump coin that allowed sha256 to be like 1000% profitable the first few days it launched?
HAHA, I saw this day coming...

Yep I agree with you , Paycoin have been dead  ;D
But it looks like it alt - coin everything will end up like this unless that is really strong as Ltc and Drkcoin.  :D

Well there's not really anything LTC/DRK can do that BTC can't. I just don't see the benefits of using them. :P

But DRK, I mean Dash is super anon-o-cryto-hide-o-mode.  LTC is a clone, but still the silver compared to BTC.  Plenty of legit money to be made in LTC until, or if, something comes along to truly rival BTC other than itself.

Do you know what stealth addresses are? You can achieve the same result with bitcoins if you use coinjoin as well. :)

LTC was only created to keep GPU mining profitable. As there are now Scrypt ASICs, it has nothing to offer except a diminishing market cap.

You and 99% of the rest of this forum, obvious scam and bullshit coin, even the hashlets!? Allways profitable, "virtual" mining!? What the fuck is that :)

It seems that Garza finally found a way to run away from XPY blaming others .

They already are. The value has dropped today from almost a dollar to about 15 cents and falling. Unless it's a massive dump and grab (not unlikely considering this coin's track record) people have finally wised up.

It's still not $0.00 yet. When will it go to 0?
