Not sure if last year's bitcoin fantasy football team happened or not, but I'm going to do one this season.

• Teams: 14
• Scoring: Standard Scoring - PPR
• Positions: Standard (QB/WR/WR/WR/RB/RB/TE/K/DEF) plus (WR/TE flex and WR/RB/TE flex) 6-player bench
• Draft Type: Live Yahoo
• Draft Date: Tuesday, 9/4 11:00 P.M. EST
• Season Length: 16 weeks including playoffs
• Buy-in: BTC10 BTC5
• Prizes: 1st place wins BTC95 2nd place wins BTC40 3rd place wins BTC20 4th place wins their BTC10 buy-in back TBD
• Escrow: Brendio is providing escrow as well as a flat 10% 5% interest to the league pot

I will have the escrow holder post the payment address as soon as it is available. Please send Brendio a PM when you are ready to pay and he will give you a payment address. In the meantime, feel free to register on Yahoo and get your draft rank setup. Please make your team name the same as your forum name.

Brendio will be providing Escrow and will also give the league 10% 5% interest.

I will be adding a bonus BTC10 BTC5 to the league pot, which will give the league BTC150 + BTC15 as interest from Brendio.

edit: Since we're lowering the buy-in, the bonus will be 5BTC. The interest will still be 10% x Total Pot.

IMO.. randomly determine a draft time.  It still favors people who are less busy over people who are busy, but it removes the back-and-forth and everyone knows what they're signing up for.

I'd maybe play if it wasn't escrowed by someone running one of those "savings accounts" that pays out a really high %.

I've thought about lowering it to BTC5 or even BTC2 if it meant getting enough players. Is there interest in a lower buy-in?

In general, having auto-draft is/would be a deal breaker for me in any money league with serious stakes.

But if the buy in were to be lowered to 5btc or less, I could stomach an auto-draft and just play for fun/shits and giggles being that auto-drafts can result in some really wonky rosters. As long as everyone has an equal chance at having a wonky roster, its all good I guess. Might make it more fun, idk.

So basically yeah, I would be happy to join if the buy-in were lowered (assuming the prize pool would be lowered proportionally too as well if so).

If I can draft my own players then i'm in. otherwise no way.

BTC5 and I get to draft; I'll sign up.  If you want to do auto draft, it would have to be BTC2 for me to invest.  And at those buy-ins it would make more sense to only have top 3 pay out. Opinions?

Autodraft: I'll do whatever, but I already have 2 other drafts I need to attend. I was looking forward to having a random autodraft league. Also, getting 10 people to agree on a time is going to be a bear this late in the season.

Question on autodraft: How does it work exactly? Will it give me a complete roster before picking up a 3rd RB or 4th WR?

Draft options:

1. We could do a live draft for those who can attend and as long as your personalized rankings are setup correctly, you should get basically what you intended to get.

2. We could do some sort of offline draft here on the forums (either auction-style or regular), where everyone gets a few minutes before being assigned the next-best player based on ESPN rankings.

3. We could do a "no draft" where an auto-draft takes place, then all players are dropped and everyone picks up their players in FAAB auction-style "draft." I can assign a 1 day window where everyone must place their bids.

Here's another option. A "Blind Auction" facilitated on the forums. This is how it works:

1. Everyone get's a $200 budget.
2. A list of players is posted in the auction thread.
3. Everyone submits blind bids based on those players to a 3rd party within ~2 hours.
4. The winners of that round are posted.
5. Repeat.

Round Ideas:

Round 1: The top 5 ranked players.
Round 2: The next 10 highest-ranked players.
Round 3: The next 20 highest-ranked players.
Round 4: The next 40 highest-ranked players.
Round 5: The remaining starting QBs.
Round 6: The next 40 highest-ranked players.
Round 7: Defenses & Kickers

or

Each round is simply the next 20 best players based on an agreed upon list.

Any remaining budget funds will be assigned to the player's FAAB budget to complete their roster.

I want in if this ends up being a live online draft.

I vote for Yahoo fantasy draft.  Used it every year for multiple leagues. They have a fast drafting process.

Also my other league is on Yahoo and this would make it easier on me :)

Will play on any fantasy draft site tho for sure.

The auction idea sounded cool.  I would be up for that too.

My personal vote is option 1 if most people are able to be present for an online draft. Like you said, whoever can’t make it can still submit their ranking list.

If most people can’t make the draft time, then auto-draft seems more fair.

Personally, I would vote against Auction draft/Blind auction draft. One reason being that I’ve never done one before and two, it seems like it would be even more difficult time wise and attendance wise.

I’m in for yahoo online live-draft or auto-draft for 5btc. I’ll go with whatever the consensus is between those two.

edit: I've used yahoo online live draft many times also and agree, it is very good and efficient. bing, bam, boom, done.

Ok. I would like to hear from ttbit, but a live draft is sounding like our best shot at making this happen. Do we need to get in before the season opener or are we okay with a week 2 start?

If we want in by wed. We're looking at a Tuesday night draft.

I haven’t done an auto-draft in ages, but from what I remember reading - at least for Yahoo FFL, yes, Auto-Draft will fill out a complete starting roster before picking up your bench players. And that’s where auto-draft starts getting wonky.

It gets even more wonky when you have, for example, gotten one of your top choices for say, QB, but if you have any more QB’s ranked high on your list, you may end up getting three or four more of those before getting a player you really actually would have of picked given you got one of your top QB choices. You’ll get weird rosters with 6 QB’s, two back up-type RB’s as your starters and 3 kickers. Like I said, really wonky and potentially disappointing especially if 10 btc means something to you.


Any draft date is fine for me, evening/night time if on a weekday.

I've done about 20 mock drafts based on my rankings and the only anomaly is one draft I got 4RBs on my bench, but they were good so I had no complaint, I think it just so happened that they were the highest players on my list that were available. They have probably refined the system a bit since you've tried it.

Signed up and will send my BTC5 tonight. Tuesday night draft works great for me.

I have currently only received buy ins from eroxors and TTBit. I have had another enquiry for a deposit address, but some on here who have stated they are interested have not contacted me for a deposit address.

Also, please let me know what to do with the excess fees now that you have reduced the entry fee.

I have another live draft tuesday night (9pm ET), and it is an auction. As long as we don't do an auction, I am fine with a live snake draft that night.

Are you waiting until we get enough players before setting the league to live online draft? I only ask because it seems that we aren’t able to make a ranking list until it is. Just curious if you knew that or not and /or were just waiting until we got enough players as it's getting closer to the (tentative) designated draft date.

And not to be a pest, but I see that the draft is set for Tuesday, Sept 11 - as opposed to the 4th. Is that correct? Just wanted to make sure as I was under the impression that it was going to be on the 4th for some reason. MAybe I misread somewhere.

Thanks, Yahoo is not allowing me to choose 10:00 on 9/4 so I've selected 4:45, I read somewhere that once your date is locked in it will give you the other times. I'll do some research to make sure we can do this, however, if we can't get 3 more people, we will likely have to do a week 2 draft.

OK, that sounds fine to me. Whatever you think is best. Any consideration for an 8 player league? None of my friends or other people in any of my other ffl leagues is interested in joining a Bitcoin league.  :-[

I would be strongly in favor of foregoing week 1 and having a week 2 draft if either a) the draft time is stuck where it is now, or b) we don't have at least 10. Hope we can get this up and running! I tried to get some friends in that aren't on this board already and was unable to convince  :-\

I've done this. Our draft is scheduled for a week from today, 9/11 at 11:00 EST. I wasn't able to change the time, I think that Yahoo only provides so many slots at each time and we were too late. Plus, this will give us a better shot at getting 10 players.

OK, it's actually an hour later than that. So 1:15 to go!

Will the draft room pop up or is there a link I need to go to? I am on the draft page, and I test my system ok, but it doesn't look like a draft room.

30 minutes before, there will be a link on the league page that says "click here to go to the live draft"

Since we only have 10, I'm going to increase the bench to 7 players, which should allow for some extra flexibility. :)
