High: 15.40 / 2 = 7.7 Bitcoin has now dropped by more than 50% since the peak. The question now is, "Will it stop at a 50% retracement?" Title: Re: holy crayola Post by: Matthew N. Please explain to my why you think you can't trace a bitcoin when it's sent. Did you really think there aren't already developers making databases and tools in association with all the exchanges so that they can find out exactly who owns a coin and where it came from? It's all part of AML. If you don't want it to happen, stop involving USD. No, not pseudonymous. Pseudo-anonymous. The inability to differentiate an entity or transaction from a group of other entities or transactions in the normal course of events.. Read http://marahmarie.dreamwidth.org/109250.html if you don't understand what it means. Bitcoins are not anonymous. They are even less anonymous than cash because cash leaves only a trail of word of mouth, whereas bitcoins leave a trail of transaction numbers and locations (IPs, businesses, orders, etc). Title: Re: holy crayola Post by: ruski on August 19, 2012, 07:25:20 PM Cash has serial numbers. You can trace large amounts of it easier than BTC.

And pseudonyms are not anonymous either. In both cases the end points of the information exchange are obfuscated but origin can still be traced. You could even say that trading with bitcoin is trading with a pseudonym.
