Title: Looking for math genius/grad student to do my homework paying btc
Post by: tarzan2 on April 09, 2015, 07:43:32 PM
I am enrolled in a introductory course for higher mathematics (modern analysis/algebra) so it should be pretty straightforward for anyone with math chops. I just dont have the time to do it myself this week as I am overwhelmed with exams in my other classes. Mostly its just set theory on the latest one, not too long either only 6 problems. I cant imagine it taking longer than 30-40 minutes for someone who knows what their doing.
I'm offering 0.08 btc with another 0.05 bonus if it comes back with a perfect score.

This is from the last homework assignment.. the more recent one I think is involving infinite sets more.. I should have the latest one in a few hours, but right now I'm simply looking to see if this gets any attention.

Let f : X = Z × {0} → Y = Z × {1} be the map f(n, 0) = (2n + 1, 1) and g : Y =
Z × {1} → X = Z × {0} the map g(n, 1) = (2n − 2, 0).
(i) Which elements of X have exactly one predecessor? (i.e. x ∈ im g but g
−1
(x) ∈/ im f).
Which elements of X are the endpoints of chains of length 2 but not of longer chains?
Which of Xe, Xo and Xi does (0, 0) belong to ?
(ii) Which set does the element (2nk, 0) belong to, where k is odd and n ≥ 0?

Speak of the devil.. the latest one was just posted and in fact it is actually 7 problems, but they appear shorter than expected so I'm keeping the payout unless someone feels otherwise.
Here is a sample from that one:

Construct an explicit bijection f; [0, 1] → (0, 1], where [0, 1] is the closed interval in
R and (0, 1] is half open

Escrowing prize may help you to find people.

IMHO it is better if you make a contest everytime, escrow the prize. You will get better answers and more people will participate.
