Title: [ANN] Bit-Pay is now officially BitPay.com - New website, new features
Post by: BitPay Business Solutions on August 21, 2012, 04:27:26 AM
BitPay, Inc. is proud to release our new website, with some nice new features

https://bitpay.com (https://bitpay.com)

We have redesigned every page on our site, including our entire checkout process, to make it better, faster, and easier to use.  The complete site is scaled and responsive to desktop, tablets, and mobile phone displays.  All orders will be handled through the new site, and old links will redirect to the new site.

Some of the changes include:

Merchant Support
We have a Toll-Free support number 1-855-4BITPAY that businesses can call if they need help

Bitcoin Miner Program
This is a new service to allow bitcoin miners to receive direct deposits into their bank accounts.
https://bitpay.com/bitcoin-mining-payouts (https://bitpay.com/bitcoin-mining-payouts)

Certified Integrator Program
Merchants around the world now have access to unprecedented technical assistance with BitPay integration. Contact us if you are interested joining this program.
https://bitpay.com/bitcoin-integration-partners (https://bitpay.com/bitcoin-integration-partners)

API
We have added API keys for authentication, replacing the SSL certificate method.  Legacy users will not be affected, but new users will find this much easier to setup.
https://bitpay.com/bitcoin-payment-gateway-api (https://bitpay.com/bitcoin-payment-gateway-api)

Full Bitcoin URI support
BitPay invoices now support the bitcoin: URI protocol on computer and mobile, and we have tested these wallets to be compatible:
https://bitpay.com/bitcoin-compatible-wallets (https://bitpay.com/bitcoin-compatible-wallets)

Checkout Process
We have a new streamlined invoice and payment process
Check it out by visiting any of our Featured merchants
https://bitpay.com/featured-merchants (https://bitpay.com/featured-merchants)

Mobile Checkout
This is now available for iPad and Desktop checkouts.
This has also been enhanced to only require ONE phone.  We will be demonstrating this over the weekend at http://paulfestival.org (http://paulfestival.org) and will produce a new video demo.

We have some very exciting features and announcements coming in September.   Check out the new site, buy something on it, and let us know what you think!

Also, just a formal matter, we have changed our incorporation from Bit-Pay LLC to BitPay, Inc.  We are now a full Delaware Corporation.

Bad. Ass.

Miner payouts is an awesome feature. EDIT: But the signup page seems to be for merchants, not end-users as expected.

I couldn't find any info about fees for merchants so I didn't sign up.  Have a URL link?  Thanks!

I believe its 1% if you want BTC and 3-4% if you want fiat deposited into your bank account.

I think the main large image slider needs some work. I figured out that I had to drag it accidently, also there isn't any information anywhere mentioning this.

EDIT: Just figured out there is a previous and next feature. Maybe they need to be more prominent. Or make it auto flip from slide to slide.

yeah its designed for a "swipe" action on a touch device.  we may write a script for it to autoscroll, but we have other priorities right now on the core technology inside.

I finally decided to use the magento cart plugin, but I get a message that the api key is invalid. I know the SSL is all set up correctly.

One problem I have is that the SSL SHA1 fingerprint field is only long enough if I strip the : characters out of the signature, so I have to either remove the :s or use a truncated version of the fingerprint. Could this maybe be a bug from the new site design?

Are you still able to process payments if, for example, the mtgox website is unresponsive for an hour?

We are not dependent on Mt Gox or any one exchange.  our system can go just fine without Gox.  You would need many USD exchanges to be down at the same time for us to not be able to fetch a rate, but even then, based on the amount of the order we may just use the last rates that were available.
