Title: Was there a cybersquatting of firstbit addresses? Post by: TeslaUa on August 21, 2012, 06:02:17 PM Hi.
I remember there was a time when the network was flooded with lots of 1 satoshi transactions. Did anyone checked if they had any meaningfull first letters in them? Call me a junkie but I was looking for my nickname on firstbits.com (http://firstbits.com/) (it is kinda slow) and found that there were transactions (that grab the funny address name). It is 5 chars long so I doubt it is accidental especially that it sits in a transaction (http://blockchain.info/tx-index/1089890/fcd2f712070a895f6a92d5913a3341bcbc15e12a72c3ec44af246291c5ba1d3b) next to other 216 outputs with kinda readable words. Post by: SgtSpike on August 21, 2012, 07:28:53 PM Looking through that list, I noticed a lot of 1pct and 1pnt addresses... those seemed odd to me. Not anything particularly special, so why were they "saved"?

I'm working on the speed of firstbits, until it improves I recommend blockchain.info for firstbits lookups. Title: Re: Was there a cybersquatting of firstbit addresses?
