Sounds good to me. Anything that makes the public more aware of Bitcoin is a good thing.

as long as it is promoting bitcoins and supporting it, its good, there should be official event regarding this and should be supported by officials

i can remember a thread with the same subject from a few months back. the idea itself is great but why only 1 day. better make everyday a bitcoin day.

A celebration day for bitcoin is great! Maybe a small festival in sole places on that day will get peoples attention zo use bitcoin. Btw, when should that day be?

Is there any proposed date for this, or is it just promotion of the idea and date is yet to be agreed? I've checked the website but it's not clear at all.

I'm slightly in favour of the this, although we already have Bitcoin Black Friday, so there's a risk that if we have too many 'special dates' the effect will be diluted, causing more bad than good.

I will be honest i really like this idea one because i love festivals but that would be a really good day/weekend to celebrate with like minded people how great bitcoin is and how lucky we all are to be part of it! Count me signed up to 'Bitcoin Day'

lol...its sounds awesome maybe a parade ;D people will love adopting bitcoins as my friends did

Why would it be a bad thing? Of course it will be promoting and supporting bitcoins. And who are these officials that should be officiating it? Bitcoin should be free from central authority for anyone to use or organize things around it.
