Title: MtGox bloopers
Post by: paraipan on August 24, 2012, 12:37:43 AM
Sometimes we get to see some funny stuff on mtgox and get a good laugh at it. For a moment I though bitcoin was rallying again, or not...

A few moments later we're back on track...

I have seen that too, sometimes the last price is higher than the "high".  That should not be possible right?

It's related to foreign currency transactions.  The 'Last Price' shows the price of the most recent trade, even if it was another currency.  If that trade was in another currency, it shows the equivalent price in your local currency, which means you can often see the Last Price be higher than the 'High' Price.  The 'High' price is limited to the highest trade that took place in the currency you're using.

At least that's how it has been explained in the past.
