Title: Windows XP
Post by: awatson824 on August 25, 2012, 06:17:18 AM
I got an old computer for mining, but when I run poclbm I get a cmd window that pops up and then closes after 1 second without showing any text.

I'm using the Windows XP home edition verson 2002, is it too old? I saw someone say they can run the miner on a windows 98.
Anyways anyone know if I can run it on this?

It is a command line program, you need to start it with some arguments

look for guiminer, its a fairly user friendly front end

then why are you running poclbm?

do you mean when you press start in guiminer a cmd window pops up?
Make sure you are using the latest version of guiminer (the old one has a problem with poclbm)
also try using pheonix miners instead
