I never invested for that reason.
It's like calling a guy named pedo to come as a clown-act for a kids party.

I don't think people deserve to loose their coins though.

So is this official? Pirate has run?

He seemed active on IRC the other day.

I don't see why everyone's so angry. I thought it was known that it was an uninsured, high-risk investment from the start.

I made plenty of money off Pirate, and got out a couple weeks ago. But if I actually lost money, it would be noone's fault but my own.

This will be good for bitcoin if for no other reason people will not be so quick to protect suspected schemes like this.

At least I would hope so. It at least sets a precedent.

Yep, irregardless of how this all ends, there will be many precedences set.

How is a bitcoin ponzi a precedence?  The $5 million USD amount maybe a precedence but not the scam.  It's not like we haven't seen this all before.  And we will see it again, guaranteed.

You know what they say about fools and their money?

Maybe... a lot of people continue to lose money to similar looking schemes with traditional currencies (but they have law backing them to help them get back 5% of their original investments).

You underestimate the constant influx of fools.
There is only one way to get rid of the scam leaders. Capital punishment.
