I assume you don't mind if someone picks up the watch in person at your store in Bal Harbour.

Also doesn't your email end with sons with an s?

first of all the toll free number given here is wrong.
second would you like to use escrow for this.
third if you really owns the Rolex set the time 04:54 in it and upload a image of it.
fourth site don"t have any SSL certificate which makes sites worth/trust 0.
So, it is Possible SCAM according to my opinion also.

Yeah, remembering the Bitcoin Documentary, I'd take care in buying such expensive goods with Bitcoin..
No way of authenticating. Use escrow

I can't vouch for the OP, as I have no way to know they are from the company.

I can say the phone number is on the website, the company is legit, and is one of the most respected watch stores, and the site redirects to SSL on checkout.  I get their monthly catalog and have been in their store in South Florida.

I do recommend escrow if purchasing online and having the OP show pics of the watch with their username.

Any brand new account, selling used Rolexes, with no proof of the item screams buyer beware.

@OP- If you are legit, which I'm not really doubting you (but go ahead and take another picture with date & username), then look up user "Bobsurplus" on here. He is always looking to buy Rolexes & such and has a luxury watch collection. He would probably be interested.

Don't take users' skepticism and doubt personally- you must understand that Bitcoin is an irreversible payment method, and there have been dozens and dozens of people pop up on here claiming to have high-value items for sale trying to run off with a quick buck or thousand. It would be highly recommended for you to use a trusted escrow (such as user "OgNasty") for your first few sales. Good Luck with business and welcome to the forum!

Title: Re: What do you think buying Rolex by Bitcoin
Post by: bithalo on April 24, 2015, 04:29:43 PM
To the OP...another thing you could consider is to give us your name, and if anyone here that is looking for the watch cares to follow up, they can call the phone number off the main website for grayandsons.com and confirm if you work there and if you put the watch up for sale on their behalf.

Please understand that scams are rampant on this board, especially from new users, and those selling what they claim are used rolexes.

But at minimum, people will need to see a handwritten note with your username next to the picture, and/or the rolex certification card/boxes to show some proof its not a fake.  It helps to show you didn't get the picture off someone else's site.   And again, escrow will be needed if selling online.  It may be more hoops for you to jump through, but understand where the community is coming from.

It doesn't say anything on the watch listing or website about accepting bitcoin unless I've missed it?

EDIT: Do you work for grayandsons or is it your watch?

P.S. I'm not trying to give you a hard time, but as already mentioned by others there are so many scammers on here with new accounts its unbelievable.

The more information you can give to verify what you're trying to sell the better and the more likely you are to find a buyer.

Its a very, very nice watch or should I say 'time piece' :).

The handwriting is partially out of focus, which I would expect for a macro photo.

The day and date are the same.  Its quite likely that handling the watch gave it energy to advance for another hour when the picture was taken.  I'm assuming this is an automatic.

Again, all it takes is for someone to call the retail store, using any number off the website, to verify.  Just call and ask if they accept bitcoin for any piece they offer.   Just deal with them directly.

I know this is from an angle and all.. But on an authentic Rolex, the date is exactly in the center of the magnified area.

That's just how it looks from an angle - I just compared it to my watch.

By the way: Overstock doesn't have the exact same model, but I found a very similar model at a significantly lower price (http://www.overstock.com/Jewelry-Watches/Pre-owned-Rolex-18k-Gold-President-Mens-Black-Dial-Watch/5048110/product.html).

On quick observation, I'd think the price difference is due to the ring of diamonds.  Depends on how much bling you're looking for!   ;D

Ah yep, that could be the reason. I just compared the model number (18238 vs. 18038)

The date on a Rolex is centred. This date looks like its slightly off.

This is a quote from : http://www.bobswatches.com/rolex-blog/rolex-info/the-top-ten-ways-to-spot-a-fake-rolex.html

3. The Magnification

Once you have the Rolex in front of you where you can can view it with your own eyes there a lot more ways to tell if it’s real or fake. On Rolex watches with a date (DateJust, Submariner, etc…) the date has to be very small to work properly and so Rolex adds a magnification glass, or Cyclops window,  to allow the wearer to see it more easily. On all Rolex models the magnification is 2.5X so

the date really jumps out at you. On fake Rolex watches the magnification is often much lower at 1.5X so the date looks small and more difficult to see. This is a huge tell tale sign of a fake Rolex.

If they accept BTC in store, I would rather send someone over to buy it for me than buy it online, even if it's protected by escrow.

Not saying this is not a legitimate offer, but it's way too difficult to separate truth from fake on these kind of deals, so it's not worth the risk in my opinion.

Always be careful where buying a preowned Rolex.   I would trust grayandsons in store, or any factory authorized dealer.  Cost is irrelevant if you end up with a counterfeit.

Can you provide more then 3 pictures with a imgur link. I saw one picture w. the ID but people pointed something about being possible photoshop.

I got a buddy who buys and sells rolexs so this can maybe work out, if he likes it or not. I`d have to confirm back on here though.

Is this a custom model submariner or which one.

I've already purchased a Rolex from Gray & Sons, although it was through BitPremier. Shipping was fast and the watch was exactly as described.
Now that I know I can purchase from them directly using coinbase I think It time to do some shopping.

Good to know. I couldn't find a Bitcoin payment option on their website - maybe you have to send them an email to pay with Bitcoin (?)

Hi we are changing our website so I think in July we will have that option.

Hi,
Are you interested in that TAG Heuer http://www.grayandsons.com/product/28401/35 (http://www.grayandsons.com/product/28401/35)
or http://www.grayandsons.com/product/28203/35 (http://www.grayandsons.com/product/28203/35)? We ship to many places in the World but unfortunately we can not ship to Indonesia because we can't insure the charge and you will have to bear all the risks of charge :( but maybe you are planing to go on vacation, or have relatives that can get that watch from our store in Miami.

Just bought two beautiful luxury timepieces from Gray&sons neither was a Rolex but we're working on making something happen when the right stock comes in.
I'll update here once they arrive with a full review on the service and some pictures.

Thanks Rich, was a pleasure.

P.s. You may want to change the title of this thread to something like:

Fine Luxury Watches (or timepieces ) for sale for Bitcoin (Rolex, Breitling, Omega, ect)  Or something similar.

Indonesia is a very risky country to send mail - regardless of payment method.

I would rather rely on the feedback to be provided by Bobsurplus before making an assessment.

Watches came in today. Not to shabby if you ask me. I ordered and paid for them on Friday afternoon at around 3pm EST, the watches went out yesterday (Monday) and arrived this morning (Tuesday) for a total of 3 working days from ordering to arriving for an international order. A+++

I bought 2 watches, both second hand. The first one is a Corum Bubble XL with the 2+ carat two row diamond bezel. Watch appears to have been polished and cleaned prior to shipping and came in outstanding condition. The Corum came with its original box and papers and tbh you cant even tell the watch is slightly used.

For the Corum I give it a 9.5 on 10.  (10 being reserved for brand new watches)

The second watch I ordered is a Montblanc Star Chronograph. This one is also outstanding. The condition overall I would rate a 8.5 on 10. The band shows some wear which I was fully aware of prior to ordering. Also seems to have been cleaned and polished prior to shipping, no scratches visible and once again, some wear in the band.

Rich also threw in a brand new high quality leather band for free and as a surprise to me. (Thanks Rich) I think I'll be changing out the band it came with and replacing it with the new one.

The Montblanc did not have the original box and papers which I was fully aware of when ordering but came in a nice high grade wooden Gray & Sons watch box.

Also included in my order was the latest issue of the Gray & Sons monthly catalog as well as 2 very nice watch cleaning cloths which ALWAYS come in handy when you wanna  shine up any nice watch.

All in all. Placing this order, paying in Bitcoins, quick shipping and awesome service is what I got dealing with Rich.

Anyone here looking for a luxury watch and wanting to pay in btc, there really is only one option and that's Gray & Sons!

Rich, thanks for the opportunity, great deal and awesome watches. I'll be back for sure and already have someone checking out your stock looking for a Milgaus.
We'll be talking soon.

Bob

P.s. If you guys want me to post pics I will but seeing as though Rich already did I see no reason to.

Great writeup Bobsurplus.   Good to see that the OP came through and appear to be legit.

I've been in their store once and regularly receive their monthly paper catalog.  I haven't purchased a watch in years, but would certainly buy from them if I was back in the market to get something.

I haven't purchased a watch in roughly 5 years.  I've tried kicking the habit, as it can get quite expensive.   I can't afford anything else these days sadly.

Some examples of watches I love (but not looking to buy now) would be:

Bovet Jumping Hours Amadeo RG
Bovet Recital 12 RG
Breguet 3450 Tourbillon WG / Plat.
Other Breguet Tourbillons
JLC 16124 RG Perpetual Calendar Skeleton
AP Millenary RG 4101
Daniel Roth Tourbillon Calendar Skeleton
Other similar Open face / skeleton pieces.

Yes Bithalo, it can get very very expensive. Have you ever thought of trading in one of your watches for a different one? Its just like trading in your old car: ) Anyways, you should come visit us regardless. Whatever you bought here, we'd love to polish and detail for you!

Right now, the only watch I would be up for trading in is my pre-owned Milus Herios Tri-Retrograde Rose Gold.  We can discuss further by PM.  It has the boxes and papers I believe.  A generic picture is below...
