Title: We can write off Pirate from the market.
Post by: Coincomm on August 27, 2012, 02:35:35 PM
It's getting clearer and clearer that he sold off most of the BTCST Bitcoins long ago. He just doesn't have them. If he does pay, it will only be seen as a large purchase on the market.

If he doesn't pay up, I wonder if you can get a tax write off for being scammed?

Oh, you mean like the sudden rise in price the last day?

Possibly or it could be people betting on Pirate buying on the market and they are price gouging. ;)

I'm wondering what your motivation is for making blanket statements like that.

20:17 <@pirateat40> I know you guys want updates and communication, but I'm somewhat muted by the personal attacks and legalities of whats going on. There is a lot more to this story than just "Send me back my coins."  If I had all the coins just sitting around I would've has this wrapped up a long time ago.

I wonder if Pirate is not scared that some guys might call on him and knee-cap him.

So what would be pirates motivation to talk?
If he wouldn't have the money he would propably be long gone.
If he was planning this from the beginning, why make personal contacts and have references to personal information?

He may have gone fractional reserve at one point because of newfound confidence in his enterprise.

Then bitlane came along...

Sure but after Bitlane noticed something a little unusual, 18 large withdrawals came in Pirate's inbox.

Shortly after he closed BTCST.

Think Pirate is a scam?

Put your money where your mouth is.

All bets will be escrowed here through Garr 255 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=104494.0  He has kindly offered to escrow my bets and PGP sign contracts.

If you are interested contact me with an offer for odds.  I will not be accepting any odds worse than 3:1 at this time.  For reference the going market rate for pirate debt is 12%  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=104052.0  at this time.

c0in$

Seems legit.
