yes even though bitcoin may fall further buying now is still ok as so long as you buy regularly you will ride out the cycles that bitcoin will grow though.

for example spending $1 on Jan 1st each year from 2011 - 2015 you would have now at $230 per bitcoin $828 for your $5.
if you started in 2012 then $61 for $4, 2013 $18 for $3.
it is only if you started 2 years ago you would be losing - just having $1.03 for spending $2.

but within the next 3 years there will be an upswing (secure exchanges etc) and even those starting late (last two years) will do ok.

so buying now is ok.

bitcoin promised lots but it never promised the average person (ie a late adopter) to make them rich overnight. But there is no reason that in the 5-10 year term you could do very very well.

so agree buy now - just a little but accumulate

I bought 32 bucks of BTC yesterday at I think it 241 and the price tanked now to 229....sorry about that ....I'm bad......broke the whole thing....
(straw broke camels back etc etc)

I'm 7 for 7 out of my mini-buys of around that amount in the last 6 months.....buy some BTC and bang oh...see if it ever creeps above the
amount I paid ORIGINALLY for the coin....so far nope....

yeah it is a scary/skill/trend or whatever.....I'm obviously cursed and dragging the whole price down with me for all........

I will refrain from buying any BTC till the price goes at least above 241 to break the trend....in case it really is me tanking the whole BTC universe in price (so it seems)

it is hard to maintain my sunny optimistic bull attitude...when every time i buy a bit (i mine mostly) a bear snatches it all away and scampers off

I feel like the Ranger in a Yogi the Bear cartoon! The dang bear keeps taking my picnic basket!

It's the worst advice in bitcoin investment. Along with the OP's attempt at shaming people to buy bitcoins. Bitcoiners must be getting pretty desperate now. The end is near. Bitcoin's death march continues.

Playing the devil's advocate here: The name doesn't say much about a person, smart persons often just don't care how people call them, or just go and pick a rather ridiculous name themselves. That being said: I don't see Bitcoiners any more desperate these days, yet the bears and trolls start to look like caricatures of themselves more every day.

Real names don't say much about a person, because you didn't choose your name, but a nickname on the internet is something you have chosen and it usually says something about you. Didn't you mine for digital currency at some point in your life?

A real bitcoiner will 'mine' it instead to buy bitcoin, or am I wrong?  I think your point of view is valid until a cert point, after that point it will be only a speculation... and this is why bitcoin dumped from 1000 dollars to 200 dollars (and a lot of people are still waiting the pump  ::) of 1k or 10k dollars).

If that makes you laugh you're probably smoking too much. Nope, Linux is just the #1 for servers, routers, mobile devices and super computers - the world would be boring if everything was running Linux.

I guess I'm not a real Bitcoiner, because I didn't buy, but I am very ashamed about that as specified in the title if that makes anyone feel better.

It is funny.  I was one of them back in the day.  There was even a Desktop Linux distro once.  It was a time when Mandrake Linux was number 1 at Distrowatch.  Good times.

A real bitcoiner is who mine BTC and spend them for buying whatever he wants (without convert into FIAT value). That's my personal opinion, and I hope you will respect it.

PS: Who is buying btc only for a speculation purpose is not a real bitcoiner ;).

If anything this is THE time to get out of the system, it will completely collapse real soon, the pressure is higher than ever before. It may climb back a little bit after we drop to around $100, but it's still better to get out now and don't look back. Move on to more innovating and scalable technologies.

But what about people taking on a stupid name or even a name that makes them look ridiculous? I think you could go and argue that those people are doing this because they consider themselves 'funny' or 'edgy' and you may be right, but apart from that it doesn't say much about them...

Yup, I guess you are a bitcoiner as soon as you joined this whole economy, may it be by simply buying some BTC, buying mining gear, buying BTC, or whatever. But if you short Bitcoin, you're also participating in the economy, even if it is in a way that's not actually supporting Bitcoin.

Just hold!  And buy some more when it's going down.

I'm mining a lot of scrypt currently (LTC) and not sure when I will convert to BTC ....if it goes below 0.006 LTC to BTC the works will go to BTC quickly :)
Also have held all the BTC I've ever mined...so holding BTC (or LTC) is not an issue.

anyway my point was IT IS WHEN I BUY A TOKEN AMOUNT OF BTC ON COINDESK ...like 7 small amounts 30 to 60 bucks usd to BTC in last 6 months or so

it is like I am the "Bell Weather Vane" of DOOM!.....of the 7 puny purchases NOT ONE has gone above the price I bought the original BTC for to USD...ZIPPO!

the last buy of 32 bucks 2 days ago included (241 usd per btc and now it is 221.94 usd per btc)

so my point is I THINK I"M JINXING YOU GUYS!".... I suspect I am messing up the BTC Karma in the BTC universe!

(******hmmmmmm on the other hand .......if i was to put a BTC address below and collect tips never to buy directly ANY BTC from www.coinbase.com anymore and as a result it would stop me from dorking the bitcoin universe I would be RICH!)

will have to ponder that ... :)

Buying and selling should be constant thing for the real bitcoiners. They always buy and sell something and keep their activities on the market. They do not just wait around and spread around foolish words.

Buying & selling bitcoin for FIAT value? Is this what you're saying?

They always buy and sell something and keep their activities on the market. They do not just wait around and spread around foolish words.

I think the primary use of bitcoin is "to spend & use it directly to buy something (not only fiat value)". If you are using it only for a speculation purpose then I think you (only as example) cannot proclaim yourself a bitcoiner.

isn't the real bitcoiner is someone who buy & use bitcoin as currency ::)

If only buy bitcoin, there are plenty investor who did it already :P
But, they will dump it when bitcoin price raise up

Now why would they dump when BTC is going up?

Hold when it's high, buy when it's low.

it's buy low, sell high. traders won't hold their coins that are bought for trading purposes if price is high. people who don't sell at highs are way too greedy.

the taxes on that house would be at least $150K/year in LA
in Texas RE tax is almost 3%, so for a 15mil house it would be $400-450K/year, not that there are many houses that cost this much here.
You can still buy a 2800-3000 sq ft house in the middle of the city (Houston), not 30 miles away, for ~$500K

Buying and selling should be constant thing for the real bitcoiners. They always buy and sell something and keep their activities on the market. They do not just wait around and spread around foolish words.

MINING and holding...never sold ANY ..I'm in it long term sink or swim......just saying when i buy even a token amount i'm 7 out of 7 of that btc never going back up to the
amount i bought it at (cursed is what I am) ..but my miners are gonna be doorstops someday..hopefully the curse will lift then ..cause only thing I will have is a buy option on
say www.coinbase.com .......(they do make dandy space heaters..my gas bill for heating on budget went down 35 bucks a month lol :)  )

no that is not for real bitcoiners, this is just trading, real bitcoiners should never exchange bitcoin for fiat, but they should support it, by spending them for goods only, the dependency of fiat is another factor that is causing the decline of the price

so "hold and spend for goods" are the real bitcoiners, the rest are just "hungry fiat people"

Are you aware that posts like this guarantee a future cred suicide once things start shaping up? What will you say when price gets back on track, keep FUDing preaching for the next bubble poop or you'll disappear to not face the same?

Yeah shame on me lol.

I`m still buying small increments .1 btc at a time until its in the $100ish, which I have a feeling its only a matter of time.

I saw recent pump and dumps going on for the last 3 days.

Yup, trading isn't for everyone. Trading actually can make you pretty uncomfortable if you're not accustomed to the stress and the possibility of losing money. If you want to be part of Bitcoin and don't know how to trade successfully, it's already a big deal when you actually put some money into it. One thing everyone should consider before investing is making up their mind about their exit-strategy: When to sell, when not to panic, etc.
