Title: Bitcoin in the Headlines: Pundits Ignite Battle of the Sexes
Post by: Coinbuddy on April 25, 2015, 11:28:56 AM
In the absence of exciting product launches or massive funding rounds, the digital currency community saw renewed scrutiny in the media this week.

Mainstream outlets are still indulging in lengthy features on the subject, however, most continued to address the technology's perceived shortcomings.

The general consensus seems to be that bitcoin is still doomed for failure, although everyone seems to have a different – and equally creative – opinion as to why.

If it walks like doom, and dooms like doom, how do you expect news media to see it?

I'm not really interested what dumb ass journalists think atm.
If the whole reaction to bitcoin by mainstream media is still negative in 10 years I'll be worried.
Absolutely nothing to be concerned about now though, we are still in the early days.

Bitcoin is a risky investment, if you can't take the pressure when things are bad get out now.
By all means stick your savings in a fixed interest bank account and get about 1.5% annual interest.
I prefer to dream big.

Look at the other side of the picture. Most conventional media owners are FIAT millionaire. Why would they endanger their dominance by supporting a tech that might challenge their supremacy ?

I don't think bitcoin is 'doomed to failure' just because there's few women currently involved. I'd rather let bitcoin speak for itself over time rather than listening to journalists speculations and predictions also.
