Why are u reading the altcoin discussions here ? Do u follow a particular topic ? Is it that u hope to achieve riches ? Is it more about dem decentralized technologies or about making a buck with one of dem various pumpcoins ? Or do u contribute words of wisdom to this forums ?

What is it that makes u think ur time is well spend here ? do u consider altcoin talk more valuable than investing in ur future by learning , education , practicing something and get better with it ?

Is altcoin the answer to ur struggle in life?  or is it just some fun? a hobby? a love of urs?

WHatever it is, what is it?  
what make this place so valuable that u spend time of ur life in it ?

im here for the entertainment.
ive found dem place to be outrageously good for entertainment purposes.

there r so many guys and gals and them sockpuppetries here that r emotionally attached to dem favorite coins, it is a pleasure to be right in the middle. now this doesnt work every day, soemtimes its really boring,
but as whole once u get emerged in all the diff actors and actresses that r active here on daily basis, u get the hang of it and u can be entertained and entertain

now i think some ppl r here for money but thats not really smart. u make peanuts with altcoins compared to some proper education and rl activity. doesnt mean u cant come here and make a couple btc. u can, if thats what u r lookin for.

i find the most valuable and only real #1 value in bitcointalk altcoin section is certainly definitly : crypto entertainment

The altcoin section can be a good resource if used well.  But yeah, lots of sockpuppetry around these parts.

I'm also here for the entertainment. I especially enjoy the threads of garbage coins that have a few extra emotional fanboys. It's better than the movies. :D

Same reason I'm on a poetry forum or a philosophical forum, to learn. If you're willing to take the time to find the right threads, you can enrich your knowledge about cyrptosystems,  investing, the right to privacy and how to defend it, and sometimes even about life and what gives it meaning. The idea that you can create an antifragile system that will work as intended with equality for all those that are involved is endlessly fascinating and seems the true legacy of the cypherpunk movement.  

I love the concept of decentralized digital currency and feel that bitcoin is opening the door to something even bigger and better.

How overrated anonymous coins try to fuck each other over, pretty funny.

I'm simply here to learn.

Is there a 12 step program that you know of?

1- Reading for fun, years ago there was something usefull, now only much facepalms and lols, still usefull for fun and cry, depends the day :)  I still love and believe in in decentralized technology, but much more interesting readings in other places with much more respetable people writing. I don't have enought wisdom for contribute, and most people here isn't looking for wisdom either, wisdom threads are usually almost empty or full of retardness posters making imperceptible the wisdom inside

2- I think that time spent here is time in the trashcan, but hey, throw my time to the trashcan is one of my most powerfull superpowers :D , isn't very usefull but is mine and love it, I usually follow online courses for learn coding and such things while in third place I study other things in the university, you see, my priorities are very disordered...

3- Yes, some alts are the answer, dream with bright future is free and made me learn a lot in the last years, I don't care a lot about the price given that I still can eat everyday, but become rich or at least have something more would be nice, and in adittion, I love you, but not many others here :-*

Learned a lot here about the latest scam techniques. BTW I like the altcoin scene. There are always some drama to watch. Sometimes better than the Investor-based games or the Securities section. (Lending is boring nowadays.)

On the earnest side: this is a place of evolution, therefore we can see some really interesting stuff here.

I'm here in the hope that I'll find discussions on the latest news and developments in Altcoins.

Unfortunately much of what's here is just bickering and fighting though, which is ultimately destructive to all.

I love altcoins for few reasons.

Firstly, the diversity of the market. There is an amazing choice of investment.
Secondly, what altcoins offer on the contrary of Bitcoin. Of course, there are a lot of "toxic" coins, but a few are very good projects with real utility, which offers new tools and way of use.
Thirdly, the unregulatory of the markets. You feel very free when you trade for crypto-currencies, especially for altcoins (which is not the case in other markets).

I want to evaluate each coin on its merits. Maybe some of them could have features that are useful to me. Admittedly, I have found none that I actually need to use for anything so far. But some have potential.

I find them to be entertaining with all of the scams and shilling. Alts maybe be useless as currency at this point, but they make an excellent testing ground for new ideas. Once/if Bitcoin ever takes off then alts will probably become pretty useful.

I like reading it cause I like a newcomer of altcoin and I can read many option what altcoin I should buy. Investing not only bitcoin probably also could gain a profit. Example: once I've ever buy Cinni coin and because I read all the speculation  so I decide to sold in and finally I got profit.

I am positioning myself as a cryptocurrency developer. I mostly review what other people had done here. I try to get involved in a coin or two to learn something.

I am interested in the PoW algorithms, if someone can make one that's not stuck in the '90s.
The anti-GPU people are borderline funny. There has been a revolution and not only they didn't notice but they even refute reality.
BTC is an excellent solution for the time being and it will continue being good in a lot of cases but I'm sure there's place for at least one alt.
Plus: there's no place in BTC for me.

And of course because it's a well known fact mining alts gets you rich overnight! With absolutely no investment whatsoever! I only had to buy 120 vidcards! Only!

Crypto has to find redeeming attributes to significantly make up for it's potential for abuse**.
Crypto also has to appeal to women since 95% of Bitcoin participants are 30'something males:
yet ask yourselves who does most of the shopping in society?
Altcoins are the place to find those diamonds in the rough to address these issues.

I'm fascinated by the practical proof-of-work applications employed by some altcoins! They give a glimmer of hope beyond burning the daily $15-$20M in electricity to over-secure one blockchain (BTC).

1. Knowing a significant percentage of BTC power is coming from coal-fired power plants in China - subsidized by a people already living in toxic conditions makes owning BTC unethical** (to me).

2. Additionally, people paying a 20% premium for local BTC just to stay ~100% anonymous also makes my skin crawl** - esp. knowing some buyers use that coin to trade for:

• meth
• illegal firearms
• human trafficking
• or even worse???

True you can use fiat or gold to conduct the same "business", but crypto makes it SO much simpler - thus the need to create SIGNIFICANT redeeming attributes for crypto is CRITICAL.

I want to learn about innovative altcoins talked frequently by BTT member. There are a lot of promising coins there.
