Title: [Auction] Silver Wallet - You pick!
Post by: Mitchell on May 04, 2015, 06:44:41 PM
What is a Silver Wallet?
Silver Wallets are 1 troy ounce pure silver coins that can be used to store a private key for a Bitcoin address. The obverse bears a unique and stately design the represents the advent of this brilliant new technology. The reverse has a 12.7mm incused square for you to carefully place a private key QR code that can then be concealed with our custom tamper proof hologram. Silver Wallets give you the freedom to store as little or as many BTC as you want.

What do I get when I win this auction?
You can pick a "Design 1", "Design 2" or a "Design 1 w/ Gold trim"-coin! Whatever you pick, it will come with a slab and 3 holograms.

More information on these coins can be found here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=525756.0) or on the official website, SilverWallets.com (http://www.silverwallets.com/)

How do you load one?
This imgur album (http://imgur.com/a/6x9N3) contains some informative pictures about how to create a Silver Wallet. For more information can you always checkout the Instruction page on SilverWallets.com (http://silverwallets.com/instructions.html).

Auction information
  • This auction will ends on 8 May 2015 at midnight in Amsterdam (1PM PDT / 7PM EDT).
  • Bids must be posted in this topic. PM's are not accepted at this point. Prices must be stated in BTC.
  • If two people bid the same price, the person who bid first will win the auction.
  • Shipping is $5 regardless of destination and will be added to the winning bid.
  • The coins will be shipped within 24 to 48 hours after receiving payment and sent from the US.
  • Shipping will be done through USPS and tracking will be used. The package isn't insured, but if it's lost it would be replaced.
  • Starting bid is 0.15BTC.
  • Snipping is allowed this time.
  • Bid increments must be evenly divisible by 0.01BTC.

I reserve the right to reject bids, even days after the bid is made. In particular, bids from people with less than 15 activity points are likely to be rejected. I recommend not getting into a bidding war with someone who has less than 15 activity points, as their bids might not be accepted, but your latest bids will still stand. If you need to know right away whether someone's bids will be accepted, PM me.

You must pay for your slots within 24 hours of receiving the payment address otherwise your slot may be sold to someone else. I will send you the payment information through a PM originating from this account ("Mitchełł", user ID 113670). You might receive false payment information from scammers pretending to be me. They might even have somewhat similar usernames. Be careful. The payment address for this auction is 1GWHadkUpQNwohjx45ec4mbzYDb9ybPVU5.

The coin with the gold trim is more valuable.  I don't understand which coin these guys are bidding on.  Is it one auction for any of the three?  Why would anyone pick a coin other than the one with the gold?

Well if you already have a gold why not grab an all silver?

Well if you already have a gold why not grab an all silver?

I guess I'm thinking that if I already have a gold wallet and I win this auction then it's necessarily a better idea to take another gold one and then sell it and buy an all silver at a profit.  But maybe I'm overestimating the value difference between the two coins :)

Profit wise the golds are more for sure + they are numbered.

That the auction doesn't extend when someone places a bid near the end of the auction. This means that someone could post a bid 1 second before the end of the auction and win it, if it's more than what others have bid.

Shipping is $5 no matter where you live. You live in India, so that means it's 15:38 over there right now. Which means that the auction indeed ends at 4:30AM.

this is just a suggestion however I would suggest contacting Mitchell to give him a deposit of some percentage of your max bid amount that would be forfeited to silver wallets in the event that you don't honor your bid.

This is not my auction so I can't say that will work for him or not however at the very minimum I think you should send him a PM to try to work something out.

So? A deposit shows that he really is interested in a coin and ensures that his future bids are valid. I'm talking with David19 right now. If a deposit is made, I'll post a signed message about it in here.

David19 hasn't won it yet. It's just a deposit so that there is a guarantee he pays up in the end, if he wins.

Do you have a good supply of these Mitchell? You only auction them or do you sell them to at a fixed price?
I'm the official reseller of Silver Wallets on Bitcointalk, so my supply is only limited by how much of these Silver wallets are left. I sell them over here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=983211.0) at a fixed price and there will be more auctions in the future.

Shit, I made a miscalculation in the OP. We have summertime over here and it's 0.12AM right now. Seeing that I stated twice that it ends at 7PM EST/1PM PDT, I'll go with that (so an additional 46 minutes of bidding), if Malin Keshar doesn't mind.

This is why you need to add 1 hour if there less than an hour left, each time someone bids. Avoids the sniping and confusion that ensues.

Sniping was allowed, so your comment makes no sense at all. I shouldn't have converted my timezone to someone else's, that's where the error was made. In the future, I won't do that anymore.
