Title: Welcome Rachel - BitInstant's newest team member
Post by: Yankee (BitInstant) on August 31, 2012, 09:00:56 PM
Hello Community,

We would like to introduce our newest team member, Satoshi Nakamoto's younger sister, Rachel Yankelevitz!

Rachel joined BitInstant this week and will start handling our customer service and working with overall operations going forward. She works here with us at our New York office, and is becoming an expert on all things Bitcoin. She even did some currency speculation the other day, and her client software has almost downloaded the entire blockchain.

Rachel will be interacting extensively with the community here on the forums, so please welcome her and feel free to direct any questions her way. Oh by the way, she’s fluent in English, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, and French, how badass is that?

Cheers to Rachel!

Hi Bitcoiners!

I'm totally delighted to join the BitCoin community and thrilled about becoming part of the BitInstant team! We have some really exciting new projects in the pipeline and I'm looking forward to discussing them here on the forum and answering any upcoming questions you might have. I recently purchased my own bitcoins and I'm really excited to see how this currency and its surrounding technology evolve in the short and long term. I have a background global media, romance languages and communications so I'm looking forward to meeting other Bitcoin enthusiasts around the world. Maybe I'll even get to meet some of you in-person at one of the upcoming BitCoin meetups here in NYC. Looking forward to having some interesting  (if not controversial ;)) discussions here on the Bitcointalk forum and getting involved in the community!

Oh ok. How do you feel working in NYC being responsible for 3+ positions on 3x,000K USD salary? Are you a US citizen or have a greencard? Do you realize that's literally slave wages in the city you're employed? Do you feel you were only hired because you have tits or because you offer something unique to bitinstant? If so what do you offer? What do you think of the pirate situation? Is coinbase a good investment in your opinion (absolving bitinstant of anything you say regarding) Are you sure you're aware of what you got involved with? Pics?

Thanks for the warm welcomes! Especially 556j!
Let me take some time to address your questions one at a time:

1) I won’t discuss issues of salary other than to say you have your figures wrong and I'm a US citizen so no green card necessary.

2) You don’t seem to know what that word “literally” nor “slave” means. When used correctly "slave" means a person entirely under the domination of some influence or person" For example, "He was a slave to his own insecurities." According to its dictionary definition, "literally" means "exactly, virtually, without exaggeration or inaccuracy" For example, "556j's dick was literally the size of a peanut."

3) I was hired because I was exactly the type of person BitInstant wanted for the role. I have experience both in tech startups, finance, customer service and foreign translation. I also have a sense of humor and a thick skin when it comes from getting flack from haters. And, while my gender wasn't a factor in the hiring process, I happen to have awesome tits.

4) On the Pirate situation: Obvious scam is obvious. New technology should make people's lives easier but people still need to use their brains and common sense.

5) On CoinBase: I’m not aware of their long-term business strategy, but it’s almost certainly better than pirate’s.

6) I think I know what I got involved with. It’s basically PayPal for non-statists, right?

Also, if you’re rude again, don’t expect an answer. Let's keep it classy.

It's not the filthy talk.  It's that lack of respect some users show other user because it's the "the internet".  If the douche bag poster had made that comment to her in person at the bitcoin meet up at charlie's office last week I'm sure she would have slapped him in the face and any one of the guys with in ear shot would have punched him in this head.

Think about that before you post stupid disrespectful comments.

Heretofore, I nominate BitInstant et al for the Most Epic Awesomeness Award in Bitcoin Business. Reasons -

Instant
Accessible
Diverse
Proactive
Honest
Communicative
Engaging

and more.

I also would like to take this opportunity to welcome their newest team member, and wish her a solid and successful tenure in the Bitcoin realm. Although we are not short at all of candid and honest answers from the Bitinstant company, more of the same is most certainly appreciated, and indeed thirsted after in this community. As Bitinstant extends its global initiatives, the excellent customer service must translate to the other regions, and Rachel's portfolio of languages will facilitate that greatly.

Kind regards from just another member of our powerful decentralized network,
-rjk

You know, Rachel, we really can't have unverified claims from service providers floating around on these forums, so you're going to have to provide some evidence for this statement. For Bitcoin's sake, of course.

I think dbag was referring to this Craigslist job posting: http://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/csr/3202524859.html

...in which case BitInstant hired Rachel for a different position, is paying her more than advertised in USD, or is also paying her in Bitcoin (which seems likely).

Hello Community,

We would like to introduce our newest team member, Satoshi Nakamoto's younger sister, Rachel Yankelevitz!

Is no one going to comment on the fact the Satoshi was just outed? All our questions may now be answered.

So, Rachel, how does it feel to have grown up in a half Japanese family?

Welcome Rachel, to the Bitcoin World! :D
Have fun "e ainda bem que sabe falar Português" ;D

Now, a few questions, if you don't answer it's ok:
1 - Is Satoshi Nakamoto alive?
2 - Is Satoshi Nakamoto his real name?

One applicant wrote MY NAME in the subject line.

My better judgement told me not to hire him...but I wanted to  :(

This is the exact reason there are very few women on this forum, and why half the people here will never have a girlfriend.

Welcome, and sorry about the douchebags.

And, while my gender wasn't a factor in the hiring process, I happen to have awesome tits.

I must personally verify this fact, so when is the next BitPay's meetup?

BITINSTANT's next meetup is in Brazil next week.

If you want BITPAY, you have to ask Tony.

... and her client software has almost downloaded the entire blockchain.

"Almost done downloading the blockchain" should become slang for starting to get into Bitcoin.

Welcome to the Bitcoin Community, Rachel!  :)  And, nice troll slaying!
