The calculator (http://www.alloscomp.com/bitcoin/calculator.php) I normally used has changed, to reflect the fact that most people these days are mining in pools. But it suggests that, if you were in a pool, you'd be earning about 0.01 BTC per day. On that basis, I'd strongly recommend pooled mining - my GPU gets me 340 million hashes a second, and I gave up trying to mine solo a couple of months ago (at which point it was estimated it would take me two weeks to receive 50 BTC).I started a few hours ago. There are more efficient ways to heat your house... I personally like the lottery analogy best. Though when you have things that give averages and estimates in time, it does give the first impression that it's a goal one is working towards instead of an abstract amount of time before you statistically win the lottery.
