It's a poor optimisation used by crappy written pool software on block change to send out work without transactions till it can get its act together to create work that includes transactions. The fact that it's KnC's custom mine that does such a shortcut does not surprise me in the slightest.

We may say "zero tx" block for that. Why is that? Because it doesn't contain any tx which was created before the block. It didn't include any tx, it cointains only generated coins. |
