10 reasons electronic cigarettes are better than smoking



1) Electronic cigarettes don't produce any second hand smoke. In fact they don't produce any smoke. They produce a propylene glycol based vapor, much the same as theatrical smoke machines, but in lower quantities of course

2) E-Cigs don't create cigarette butts. The Instead ECigs use eliquid to refill the plastic cartridges over and over again to reduce waste even further

3)No Tar! As mentioned, e-cigarettes produce vapor, not smoke, so they don't contain the tar that burning tobacco creates

4)No more yellow. E-cigarettes won't turn your teeth or fingers yellow.

No one said vaping is healthier than not smoking at all. Just saying that for people that want to QUIT smoking, vaping is a nice alternative.

Cigar = burning. Vapor = any liquid in gas form (tea vapor, clouds).

Trying to claim that e-cigs are better/healthier than regular cigs is not based on fact yet. There have not yet been enough studies.

There have been numerous of studies on rats/mice, none show any damage to E-Cig vapor. You are using the same substances (PG,VG) every day without noticing.

Take your toothbrush for example, read the label it will include - VG.

We know what goes into both products.  The e-cigs have substantially less chemicals than regular cigarettes.  While they may not be 100% safe, we know that e-cigs are safer than regular cigs.

Does the title says "E-cigs are healthy for you" ?   No one is saying they are good.

The point it that they are healthier than cigarettes.

I don't recommend it since even most smokers agree they know that ill effects of smoking tobacco ends up having negative impacts on peoples health eventually.

Now why screw with e cigs ?  That is not even smoking !!

Hell if you are going to smoke , just smoke............ I guess for some people trying to quit regular cigs it is an option or maybe to be able to use indoors ??


One thing I certainly know is that in the 1960's through leaked documents that did not come out until decades later , Amercian cigarette companies were caught putting addictive chemicals in the cigarettes.....not just normal nicotine,  I am talking about stuff like benzadrine.  I think they stopped this for smokes being sold to the american market but still may do it for smokes being sold overseas,   also if you buy imported cigarettes you might be smoking speed , along with all the other chemicals in the cigarettes.....

I don't exactly support the act of smoking any kind of cigarettes, but hey, you're free to do anything you want. I agree that Electronic Cigarettes are 'healthier' for you and others. There are many reasons, but quite a few have already been stated by others before me, so I won't point them out again. Both are not good for your health, but the e-cigarettes is the better option. If you smoke, then just move over to e-cigs. I've heard it has also got different 'flavours' to choose from. Clearly the better alternative. Is it because e-cigs not being available to everybody why people have switched?

People here definitely don't know how to replies properly to threads anymore. They are a lot of comments saying that the e-cigs aren't healthy or that one shouldn't smoke at all.
The thread is not about that.
E-cigs are definitely much better than cigarettes. I myself will switch very soon. While they still contain some damaging chemicals I'm pretty sure that they are nowhere near the amount found in cigarettes.
People can smoke if they want to, it is their choice (as long as they are aware of what they're doing to themselves) .

Once you try e-juice on a well tuned device, you won't go back to cigarettes.

However, good E-cigs need to be maintained well: cotton replaced frequently, coil replacement.

Smoking is bad for our health.

Considering that everyone is eating modified food that isn't healthy either, people need to stop pointing this out. There are a lot of things that are very unhealthy, yet people keep consuming this.
E-cigarettes and vaporizers are going to help smokers who don't want to quit or can't quit. There should be a lot less deaths than before.

i think that i would rather quit smoking than buy an electronic cigarettes. The liquid that is put in the cigarette is also toxic, maybe as much as the cigarette itself, so i will stick to the ordinary cigarette :P

Exactly. While e-cigs aren't healthy (what is healthy these days..), they are much safer than normal cigarettes. Also the smoke from cigs is actually the worst, vape pens should also help with this.
If one doesn't want to quit smoking, then switching is preferred.

No, e-cigs are not healthy, exactly the same as cigarettes are not. Another XXI century bullshit hype, in 10-20 years they will have something newer, better, more healthier, and e-cigarettes will be considered deadlier than classical ones.

I don't smoke regular cigarettes, but first time i've used e-cig i almost threw up and got headache for 2 hours. Also, i want to beat the shit out of anybody who smokes this crap in restaurant/bar/bus/train/etc. and explains it as "not harmful with beautiful aroma", f**k You i say, i prefer to eat my dinner in poisonous tobacco smoke than in some cheap imitation of perfume from someones else lungs. It's not smelling "nice", it's more annoying than normal smoke. Yes, i know that they are ones without the smell, but apparently having the one which produces smell is some kind of achivment and it's used very widely.

Stop buying cheap chinese products and expecting good results. I've tried a few e-cigs and they do not cause anything that you've mentioned. Stop generalizing.

Do you think this doesn't harm your organism? This is poison too. I will better smoke and then quite than use a electronic cigarettes, it looks bad and the feeling is not the same as with ordinary cigarette. So it is just a waste of money

Unfortunately this is how the current society works. The presence of ignorance is very strong in this forum as well. People do not know how to properly discuss things nor research for sources.
Just before recently replying to this very thread I've looked into some research papers related to vaping and e-cigs. Even though more research needs to be done so that long term effects can be determined, it is pretty clear that it is a healthier alternative.
Saying that quitting is better than switching to e-cigs is not an argument here. There are a lot of people who know what are doing to their bodies and do not want to quit. However, switching to vaping could help them live a much healthier life.


However, I'm already expecting some people to disregard both links and enlighten us with their wisdom.  ::)
