Title: Why was there no notification of password change?
Post by: Vod on May 08, 2015, 11:00:23 AM
According to the seclog, the user Operatr changed his password on May 06, 2015, 12:43:33 PM
https://bitcointalk.org/seclog.php

It was my understanding that their profile should have a warning that the user recently changed password!

This user was asking for a loan here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1054247.0

My first instinct was the account was hacked, but I viewed the profile and there was no warning.

It appears this scammer made off with 0.25btc.  :(   He/she went offline as soon as they got the coin.

Edit:  It appears the password reset message is showing on his trust page.  It should be shown on the main profile page as well, IMO.

(Neotox - this was my ignorance, sorry I let you down man and couldn't warn you away.)

There was a warning when you click on his trust

This user changed his/her password recently.

IMO, in the last few days, his behaviour seems suspicious.

If it was just changed, and changed once ~two days ago then I wouldn't say the account was hacked/sold, at least not when it was last changed. I would think that if the account was hacked that the owner would be posting in meta complaining about not being able to access their account.

There have been a number of instances where someone hacked an account, didn't change the password and then tried to, or actually took out a loan without changing the password.

It would really be better to get a signed message rather then to check for a recently changed password as that gives a much greater certainty.
If a password was changed in the last 3 days or reset in the last 30 days then a warning will be displayed in its trust page which you should be looking at if you are considering doing any kind of business with.

Why on his profile on his personal message appears this: This account has an active loan from Neotox.

He got hacked by someone now and wants to warn everyone that the user is a scammer???

edit: shit im stupid i just notice neotox asked him to change his personal message

In this case Neotox has trusted you with his 0.25 bitcoin, and I do not think you will scam and ruin 'your' forum account (you remember me 'moreia', he started with a few loan request and finally scammed).

lol why everyone thinks I am a scammer? I would have rather sold my account to get much more than scamming for 0.25 BTC.
Will you guys forgive me? I will repay loan asap. :(
I would rather not request for a loan ever again, this one has gone to different heights
