Title: Seems like we are getting closer to a 'Hunger Games' type dystopian future
Post by: toddtervy on May 10, 2015, 12:59:28 AM
Are we getting closer to or already living in something similar? I think many people think so, here's some articles that argue the case:

We probably are but it likely depends on what area you live in and what your current and future comfort levels are. It takes a lot of sand to start revolting against your government and the policing agents that live among you. Very few places on earth have populations that are armed w/ competitive weaponry as the state but none have the armored personnel carriers that are impervious to light arms like the state does, especially in america. That said, a large population like the US w/ such a large territory offers plenty of bug out areas where people can go survive in while the state agents are focused more on urban marshal law if and when it came to that.

We are NOT getting close to a "Hunger Games" future because the movie showed far more bad haircuts than we have.

Ah, the old  "if we make enough jokes our maybe our problems will go away" routine.  Classic

You are thinking like them imo, change doesn't come from showing their front line we are violent thoughtless thugs who kill their friends. It comes from good people reaching the hearts of the corrupted who is their defense not by war, not this time around. As soon as enough police/army/politicians are awake the armory that the state has starts to mean nothing. This is when the mercenary come deal with the populace for the shadows and when you have shown your police/army/some politicians your fight is not against them and opened up their hearts critical mass will be reached and they will not stand for their countrymen being murdered by foreign mercenaries and I believe that is when the real fight starts, the people will no longer be alone. OP they like to put in movies what is coming, so it is coming in the near future if something doesn't change, mainly people waking up.
