In these days when bitcoin-accepting ad networks seem to appear (and sometimes, disappear) faster than the advertisers interested to place an ad with them, I managed to get this nice screenshot where you can see four ad networks advertised on two banners from different networks:

So there we have: BitVisitor, Anonymous Ads, CoinURL and now also the new Bitcoin AdSmart.

The supply of people interested in placing ads on their websites and visiting others' websites to earn money is nowhere small, but I don't think we can say the same about advertisers... personally, most banners I see these days don't show more than half a dozen different ads.
This hurts affiliates too, because if there's no variety, people won't click the ads, meaning less profit.

Yup, can't wait to get more announcers. And more specifically bitcoin-UNrelated announcers: that would be more appropriate for my bitcoin-unrelated websites than all those ads promoting various services all around some obscure bit-thing that even "computer people" don't all understand.

As far as bitcoinadsmart goes, the network is new, however excluding "run of network" ads that we put up as filler for now the keyword specific ads will match your content pages, so if you write about bitcoin casinos the ads will be about bitcoin casinos. If you write about t shirts, the ads will be about t shirts. I cant speak for the other ad servers, but once there is a sufficient number of advertisers on my network the ads will be relevant. For now keyword relevancy match is 10% just so that there is some variety. Hoevers that's just a setting in a config file that can be retooled when the volume of advertisers is sufficient.

I know I do my part in helping to grow the bitcoin community, I have established a social network, I sell web hosting and domain names for bitcoin. Not do i just do that but now I have an ad network as well. The screenshot you took is funny, its just because we are all supporting each other in the endeavor of growing the bitcoin community.

I presently only have 35 different advertisements up on the network but that's not bad 5 days out.

If you want to see the ad networks grow, then publish or advertise!

Oh and on a side note, I am accepting ads from bitcoin unrelated sites, I'm going to make a separate channel for that in the coming days and then just some SEO.

So if I have an URL shortener, I'll see ads about URL shortening? Oh, noes! ;)

You will see relevant ads, which means more profit for you. Just like google adsense.

I don't understand how advertising can sustain a website. I probably haven't clicked on a single ad since I was a little kid.

I agree with you. I never clicked ads not even when I was a little kid, and now I use an ad blocker which is disabled on the websites I support (still, they'll only make money if the advertiser pays per view).

Running my websites based solely on the ads profit would be impossible. 8 months after I started putting ads on the websites, only now the sum of what I earned with ads is enough to pay for a small VPS... for one month. It's the result of using bitcoin-accepting advertising networks when you don't want to have intrusive ads on your website (and note that most ad blockers still don't block ads from these networks!).

My system uses proxy bidding, which means as there are more advertisers competing for a keyword the CPC of that keyword increases. With current average cpc at .003BTC and Click Through Rates at 1% that means that Revenue per thousand visitors would be .03BTC, so if you have 100,000 visitors a month you are looking at 3.00BTC which is 30.00USD and would pay for the small VPS required to support that type of traffic.
