Im trying to set up a group buy for the Avalon 4.1 miner: https://ehash.com/product/avalon4-module-1t/

For those that are not familiar its their latest product and is similar to an S5 in performance, and can run .55 W/GH under clocked @  980 GH/s. Main selling point over the S5 is that its SUPER quiet and is perfect summer bedroom/home miner with full metal enclosure.

Problem is of course the price...individual units they want to charge around $600 shipped to the States, which is crazy. I have contacted them for a bulk buy and currentlly have them at $440 per unit shipped to the states if I buy over 40 units.

Pretty sure I can get them closer to 400 if I know this will go through, so I will be buying 6 units myself and would need 34 units picked up by other people.

I figure we all do individual payments (in BTC) to trusted escrow account that will pay ehash directly once all money is received, but we can get a group consensus on how we want to handle the buy if we have enough buyers!

So if interested post the number of units you would buy! (btw they have 80 in stock, probably more so if we get a lot of interested we can go over 40 and reduce price even more).

I can't find out price or anything  except 5 chips vs 40 chips and the same chip.

40 chips do as low as 800gh easy  and 1000gh stock.   1300gh maxed.

same chips  may allow for  100gh 125gh  150gh.

I can probably take 1 and if the price goes down maybe 2... :-)

Hi, i know Avalon says that shipping cost pr miner to EU is 75$ each, so if you can manage a price of 325$ each without shipping. then count me in for 30 miners, but they have to alow me to make my own TNT collection with my TNT account. much cheaper than 75$ each.
I can wire transfer 10k $ directly to Avalon if they want, but price has to be max 325$ each including everything.

Miner cost around 350 to make so it is impossible for avalon to sell them at 325.  ;)

Unless this is happening in a week or less, I'm out. Can't spend a year waiting, sorry.

Then the miner is just too expensive to produce. I bought SP20 for 350 Each including shipping (29 miners) and I have an offer from Avalon that is very near 350 $ a pcs without shipping, so if group buy can manage 400,- $ each including shipping and Avalon says shipping price is 75,- $ each. It would be 325,- $ each without shipping :-)

Listen Guys,  price has to come down a lot for my 30 miners.
I do not want to pay the same amount of money for 30 miners as one who buys 4-5 miners,  I hope it makes sense.
I have an official offer on 370$ ex shipping from the 16th April and price should have got further down, now the Bitmain S7 is soon released (July)  and my guess would be an 2-2.5th miner with wattage around 900 watts.
If you are able to get the price down to 350 without shipping I could still be interested other wise I wait for the S7 or make a direct purchase from Avalon.
Maybe we should go for an Bitmain group by of the S7.
Those 30 Avalon miners would give me and ROI of 6 month with present diff. When paying 0,04$ a Gh.
By the way a very good initiative, lets have some more group buys so we can keep mining alive for home miners.

thats quite a prediction.. is speculation or do you have something to back this up? i know KNC is working on some baddass chips like this but they are not marketing them for sale..

They are 1.7th + 47 mhash scrypt at 900w + at the wall.
Bitmain confirms that S7 is scheduled for July + I got my info from a very reliable source testing a lot of hardware from different producers here on Bitcointalk….
In 1 month time Avalon is obsolete if price dosent come down big time.

So at current prices, the SFART has the 'potential' to earn about 0.032BTC per day, or roughly 1BTC a month COMBINED. Power costs at low end of $0.1/KW = $73.00
Profit 'potential' is $170+- a month per machine. If they price it $8-900, it's a solid 5-6month ROI. Not bad. If it costs less in the $5-600 range it's a Solid Winner, unless bitmain pulls a 0.3W/GH rig out of their hats AND it doesn't sound like a freaking jet engine before take off.  >:( The S5 was disappointing to me with regards to noise levels. Not built for home mining at all.

The Avalon 4.1 (If I ever get my hands on one) seems to be the silent winner IF you have cheap or free power.

Since there is no power figures release from BM on the S6-S7, it's vaporware, no matter who says what. Simple as that.
Not the first time promises have been broken in the mining industry with regards to efficiency.  ;)

Let's wait until they are actually in people's hands and we have real world figures.

The SFART looks promising IF scrypt prices stay up (and with LTC halving coming up, I don't see why they wouldn't be).

Its actual pretty easy.
Avalon do NOT want to intefear with Bitmain and start a price war, thats why the price dosent go down on Avalon products, but now when Sfart is ready for launch its a complete different story.
Bitmain will NOT release specs before Sfart has announced the end price. My guess price wise is still same as I said before.
SO, group by wise, Avalon needs to get down to 320-340 range pr miner before you are able to take ROI, with those 2 new miners from Bitmain and Sfart reardy on the dorstep, or im I wrong guys ?

No demo or review no real info on them running anywhere.

I wouldn't touch the SFARDS gear with a 10 foot pole until you see something in the wild. By 'wild' I mean non-bias user posting a review.

6 THash/s for about 1.6kw
it claims 0.26 watt/ghash .. if this is legit and it eventually scales downwards, then i'd say it has a rather large potential to shake things up.. too bad its backordered some months now or i'd consider ponying up for one :(

edit: though, i might actually try to get my hands on one of these eventually.. just need a bit more cheeze

Ok so latest from Avalon is that they are completely sold out of new units, but have used units to sell. If people don't care that they are used I will try and negotiate a price for used.

If the price is right, used doesn't bother me.  Can't speak for everyone else though.

If you could get 4.1 used for a good price I would take 3 to 5 units.



BTW  new product has a max of 78gh.  good price for them I would want a few.

Its a A3222 like in the avalon 4.1 so we should be able to overclock it a little bit.  ;D

i might be interested in these, the stealth factor is pretty awesome.  ill be watching to see what price you get worked out for the used 4.1's

Used is ok if price is right. Can't commit until then though. Probably 2 to 5.

I am also OK with used units.  The price will drive my quantity commitment (likely 2 to 5).

I think they will list prices on the new smaller mini today.

Site is still down. as of 11:10 am east coast time.

Their site stays down for an awful long time to typically see minimal changes when it returns.  I am still interested in the used 4.1 prices they have to offer...

You can't reason with Avalon - they are just immune to that arguments... It seams they are, like many other hardware manufacturers not really keen to do retail business.
Roughly one year ago I tried to get a reasonable quote for a hundred miners, still no chance to get them below Bitmain price.

It would be nice to have a competitor to Bitmain...

The way Bitmain shells out new hardware I assume Avalon doesn't even want to attempt to keep up in the retail space.
I'm with you though, it sure would be nice to have a few options / competitors to Bitmain.  With Spondoolies and seemingly Rockminer dropping off retail, Sfards too expensive/unreleased, and Avalon too expensive its a Bitmain monopoly! lol

That shits just weird to me. Why did they post the mini and never put a price for sales? Then they leave prices up for the 4.1 and 4.1 suite....makes no sense.

Yeah I know..   I think I could get a few partners and buy 40 to 100 of these maybe 200 of them.

Then spilt them up between the partners and sell them off.  I feel The mining game is passing us by. Oh well.

I'm happy I kept mine and just underclocked.  It for sure has paid off this summer.   Wish I would have kept my S3's but I didnt know difficulty would go so slow.   Still happy to get rid of the dragon 1T that thing spit out some hot air.   

I'm interested in one, if this group buy actually ends up happening and if the price is right!
I'd like to run something neat in my garage.

There should be no new news.  This group buy I believe is in a dead status.  They sold out of the Avalon 4.1's so there is none to buy.

I doubt they make more at this point.  I think they are more focused on the mini at this point in time.

They have removed it from site completely - https://ehash.com/ .  I highly doubt the company goes into sales of used gear with not selling it now.  I they were going to sell used I would think it would still be on website for sale, and they would pull a used one from rack and sell it.

Anyway's I don't think we will see used group buy.
