You don't.

Even if you could (which you can't) Intel integrated graphics has such low IntOp performance that we are talking about a couple bitcents a day (and spending more than that in power).

power is free.

is there a tutorial on how to do it? and how many MH can i get.

That list doesn't have any Intel GPUs on there.

If you really want to try it out, first you need the Intel OpenCL SDK (http://software.intel.com/en-us/vcsource/tools/opencl-sdk). Then your miners can pick up any OpenCL platforms, and start mining. I would not expect hardly ANY performance out of that at all. If you get more than 20MH/s, I would be shocked.

Which is about .2 BTC per month, worth about $2.   Extrapolating that rate for a year that is about $24 per year.  Except that the block reward adjustment drops in half in about eighty days.   And higher difficulty will drop the production for your hardware as well.

If you just want a hobby, knock yourself out.

That's if you can squeeze 20Mh/s out of it. I'd put it at closer to $5-10 over the next year. Not worth the extra heat/lifespan you're taking off your CPU.

Just let us know when it's all done and you're mining.

run "cgminer.exe -n" and see if it can see the OpenCL platform.

You don't.

Even if you could (which you can't) ...

Even if you went to the effort of making it work, it just isn't worth it. For a while I used a 5450 which got me 15mhash a day, it just isn't worth the strain on your system. If you have a 6670 in your computer, why don't you use that?

i am using the 6670 but i am only getting 109Mhash so i want to mine with Integrated Graphics and see the speed.

Your integrated video would be very lucky to get 10% of that speed....

One more time this time bolded for emphasis.

You don't.

Even if you could (which you can't) ...

It is NOT possible to mine on Intel Integrated Graphics.  Not sure how much clearer that can be made.

If you really want to try it out, first you need the Intel OpenCL SDK (http://software.intel.com/en-us/vcsource/tools/opencl-sdk). Then your miners can pick up any OpenCL platforms, and start mining.

I may have been mistaken. I did know there was an OpenCL platform available, but perhaps there are no miners that can utilize it?

Intel OpenCL platform is "non-standard".    The openCL acceleration for CPU is fairly good (CPU will execute OpenCL kernels) but that is kinda useless for mining.  Intel OpenCL drivers for GPU are a "mess".  To my knowledge nobody has gotten them working and it likely would require writing a custom kernel.  That kinda defeats the point of OpenCL (writing generic code to execute against OpenCL compatible hardware) but I guess it could be done (maybe).  Given the worthless performance of Intel GPU, there would be no point.  I don't see anyone releasing Intel compatible OpenCL kernel anytime soon.

is there a custom OpenCL SDK for Intel Integrated Graphics

Title: Re: How To mine with Integrated Graphics?
Post by: DeathAndTaxes on September 09, 2012, 05:38:45 PM
is there a custom OpenCL SDK for Intel Integrated Graphics

No.  The SDK is produced by the hardware manufacturer.  Nobody has the technical expertise to make a "custom" one.  If you have Intel hardware you use Intel OpenCL SDK.  If you have AMD hardware you use AMD OpenCL SK.  If you have NVidia hardware you use NVidia OpenCL SDK.

Intel implementation of OpenCL is flawed or incomplete when it comes to GPU (works perfectly fine on the x64 CPU portion).  Standard OpenCL kernels for mining simply do not work.  Period.  In theory it may be possible to make some non-conmpliant OpenCL garbage kernel which gets around Intel's flaws and works on their GPUs.  Nobody is going to do that because the hardware is so weak.  Why would someone with the skills to build that (if it is even possible) spend the hundreds of hours just to produce a kernel which only works on Intel GPU and is the slowest of all hardware available to users?  The mining kernels in use now are the product of hundreds of hours of development.  Nobody is going to do that for some joke of a GPU made by Intel.   Even IF you did get it working a $10 AMD gpu you bought used a fleamarket would be magnitudes faster.

TL/DR:
As I said in the first post.   No.

Did you even read that thread crazyates posted?

Okay, results are just abysmal.

4.3 M/hash per second on average on the Intel HD 4000.

at 4.3MH/s you could make about $0.02 a day. If you walked up and down your local Walmart parking lot you would make more money picking up change... Its just not worth it.

On top of that when the reward drops by half you will be making $0.01 a day.... Plus the difficulty on the rise, I would guess in the matter of a month you would be down to less that 1 penny a day even with free electricity.

Even if you got 20MH/s it would only get you $0.04 a day.

So I should stop running that CPU miner on all the computers at my work? I mean 7MH/s times 6 computers is like $.06 a day!
I'm kidding, I don't really do this.
