Due to popular demand, I have decided to start the process of organizing a pre-order of Bitcoin Bars! Please read through all details before committing to a purchase. A sufficient number of interest must be confirmed via pre-order purchases prior to moving into production. Production estimated at 2-3 weeks.

(2015) Limited Edition of 100 5" in diameter Bitcoin Bars:

These bars are made of a copper/brass alloy that is antique gold plated (like the Ether line) and will each come unfunded with a numbered hologram for customer placement on the bar. The customer can add a private key if they desire to add funds to the physical piece.

f*D's 5" Bitcoin Bar Specs:
* 192 grams
* 4-3/8" long
* 2-1/4" wide
* 1/4" thick

PRE-ORDER ONLY - Cost is $300 plus shipping for a 10-pack. To reserve the lowest available numbers a down-payment of $150 plus shipping is required with the remaining $150 balance due prior to shipment once minting is complete (estimated 2-3 weeks after sufficient number of pre-orders). Down-payment is refundable until orders are filled. NOTE: Once project moves into production, down-payments are no longer refundable.

Based on sufficient pre-orders which is hard to predict but I do not think it will take long. At that point, we move to production. I would guess 1 month at max, but again, I cannot guarantee that yet.

Anyone have a Casascius bar handy?  Curious how big that is diagonally for comparison.

A Casascius bar is about 3.55 inches diagonally

Edit: Changing pre-order to 10-packs only to speed up the project like I did with the DRK and ETH. Singles will have to be via the secondary market.

Will the holograms have a window like Casascius used? Any chance of a plastic case for these also?

The holograms do not have windows and these will not come in a plastic case. Each will be individually enclosed in a protective pvc pouch, similar to the Ether and DRK coins.

To clarify (edited OP), down-payment of $150 plus shipping is due for pre-order reservation. The remaining $150 is due after minting prior to shipping.

I have decided to issue an f*D embossed Certificate of Authenticity with each bar. The C of A will identify the piece as #x of 100 in the series and also reference the hologram number that comes with the bar. I will leave an area on each C of A for the end owner to type write or print their wallet's address once they have assembled their bar. The C of A will fit in the pvc pouch that comes with the piece so it will be easy to keep them together.

Looks great.  Any pics with a hologram design, maybe superimposed on the bar?

I know the holos will be applied by the buyer to the bar.

So will there only be 135 bars minted?
Are all the bars numbered and will there be any denomination marked on them?
Would you also consider offering/selling additional holograms so that we can create our own keys once/if we peel the original hologram.

There are 100 bars being minted. 70 are already sold via the pre-order reservation process concluded yesterday. The remaining 30 are being sold in 1 10-pack, 2 5-packs and 10 singles. Each bar will be numbered via the included/associated Certificate of Authenticity and the included non-attached hologram. I will not provide additional holograms, just 1 per bar which will be left to the customer to place. The customer is free to of course insert a private key prior to placement of the hologram and there is an area on the C of A for them to print, type or write their BTC address.

I am looking forward to this as well, wont be long now!

If you are looking for just one, there are a couple of threads going in this forum that you can order from. We are only selling bulk (5 or 10 packs via webstore).

That looks amazing although maybe a gold hologram would have fitted in a bit better... Regardless of that, I really like it!
What size is the hologram area and will any extra holograms be provided?

The hologram is 1", the recessed area in the bar itself for the private key is 3/4". Only 1 hologram comes with each bar so use sticker tape for application - it is easy to do.

This bar is crazy awesome! Good job guys. What are the dimensions? It looks pretty big, but maybe this is the close up.

The bar is 5 inches, corner to corner diagonally. Apparently this is close to the same dimensions as an iPhone 5.

If they are shipping from outside EU, they'd cost a ton in VAT as well for us Europeans....Still on the fence about a three-pack though :)

I'm heading to the U.S. shortly and I'm getting mine sent there where I'll bring them back myself. I bought a bar from miffman who is sorting it through Blazed. If he has any available and if you buy one from him I can bring it back with me to the UK and then ship domestically (if you're from the UK/EU) if you'd like.

I only have bars #99 and #100, which I'm willing to sell, but at a higher price because of the serial number. If you're still interested, shoot me a PM.
