I'm not justifying their actions, but we weren't there so we can't know the whole truth.   Everyone is quick to judge police in these situations but the truth is that they have to make life and death situations on a daily basis.

Fucking bullshit! Even if the the police/guards (dressed up in riot gear!) didn't kill him directly (fat chance), the fact remains he was bleeding from his ears, nose and mouth and no ambulance was called. Why would it take 3 years for the video to be released if the authorities had nothing to hide and acted justly?

<edit> Also, he said he couldn't breathe 20 times. Everyone involved should be charged with murder.

Those in positions of authority should be held to a higher standard, not lower.

This is just an old video. Tell the whole story. What was before that? Was he a wanted and armed criminal who has killed somebody or robbed somebody?

That's right. We can't judge someone without any evidence. Maybe he was a dangerous person or a criminal. This post could show misunderstanding in our society.

Of course, while there are a lot of people watching police-positive programs on TV, and cheering for the police all along, simply Google "police brutality" and see the number of hits that you get... like over 14 million.

:)

Nobody perfect in this world. You're right, it seem so many case was happened because people that worked carelessly. But, it's not fair if we just look to the careless people. There are many officers that work hardly in country service and help society.

The Harris County jail here in Houston is under fire, for years their staff - which is comprised of a bunch of wanna-be good ol' boys (even the black deputies there act like total rednecks) - did as they pleased and swept everything under the rug. I've worked with a few jailers from there in the past, they'd boast of thumping on inmates for kicks, stripping people naked and forcing them to stand in front of other inmates, withholding food...just crap you'd expect from some warped kids yet these were grown men in positions of "power". I'm not against the cops in most instances, but county jails house a fair amount of people who are awaiting trial and have yet to be convicted and creating an environment where goons like this can do as they please and live out their warped fantasies needs to be stopped.

Quote
Deterrius Terry Rashad Goodwin, a man with mental issues, was found confined to a cell at Harris County jail.

Investigators say that cell was filled with feces and infested with bugs while deputies and jailers went on about their business.

Sheriff Adrian Garcia says, "the investigation indicated that problems were reported to supervisors and ultimately supervisors failed to act and to take immediate corrective actions."

As a result of an internal investigation 6 jail employees were fired, 29 were suspended, a Chief Deputy resigned, a Major over housing at the Harris County jail was demoted.

The terminations include two sergeants being indicted criminally earlier this year for falsifying documents claiming they inspected Goodwin's filthy cell.

"When employees fail to take action when it results conditions that no inmate should be subjected to then this discipline is called for," says Garcia.

There are also major changes in the jail including several new programs the Sheriff has put in place to insure no mentally ill inmates are living in a cell filled with feces

Want to change things? Listen to the list of audios in the right side of http://www.myprivateaudio.com/Karl-Lentz.html.

Recognize that the strongest parts of law are the 6th, 7th, 9th and 10th Amendments. They take people out from under government and into common law where man is king, not government. Listen to the above referenced audios to see what I mean.

Do you have a friend or relative in prison awaiting trial? They are your property. Open a court case (where you dictate the terms and rules of court, not the "judge") requiring the people who are holding your property to give it back. Get them out of jail this way. Listen to the above referenced audios to see how to do it.

:)

EDIT: The audio, November 8, 2012  | EPISODE 187 - Karl Lentz My Private Audio (http://recordings.talkshoe.com/TC-39904/TS-676216.mp3), may be best.

When I watching this news from USA I have to say, I'm happy that I don't live in USA.
Something is wrong with this country if people are not safe from the police, just because of different skin color.
It is said that the US is the cradle of modern democracy and the leader of the free world but often it does not seem so.
