Be careful not to push too far. If you go further than the original shape, that's when the pins usually break.

I will have to take some when I get home, but toothpicks work? Sounds good, it's only a couple pins but I have never had this issue before.

Ouch, maybe don't use force next time you reinsert your CPU? It should slide in easily without force, atleast for modern CPUs.

Maybe you can also use some PC toolset? make sure you are not static when you touch to board though.
