Explain to me how it makes sense to purchase with you, when I've had nothing but good experiences purchasing directly through Bitmaintech.com, and it's cheaper to acquire a "brand new" S5 directly through them, rather than paying $375 for the honor of dealing with an honest and upstanding member of this community like yourself ?

It's real simple.  They are selling, so someone must want to buy them.  Pretty easy concept to me.  He's not ripping anyone off with those prices, so what's your problem?  I have Sp20 units on ebay that are selling for >$500.  Why would I offer them here for anything less than the 13% fees they charge?  These aren't being sold to ROI at current btc rates.  So it just comes down to 'do you want one or not'.

Bitmain is ripping people off selling these at $340. Selling them at $375 is an even bigger ripoff.

That's my problem.

I have a good record on eBay, and I still sell most of my mining gear here.  Reason being that I don't want some asshole mining with it for 179 days and then filing for an item not as described case, and eBay forcing me to take it back and give a full refund.

Right now, as the other poster had posted, it is just whether you want this item or not, especially if an item is discontinued.
Re S5, it is NEVER $340 because of $47 shipping.
I would add that I personally would not buy a used machine selling with a huge discount because expecting a huge discount on a good well functioning machine, special situations aside, is not rational.
I do understand the desire and passion, but mining is not essential for someone's well being (it is not food or medicine).

yeah the sp20's are nice gear.   the s-5s are meh. 

I actually liked the  Avalon 4.1's the most but my summer power bill is 16.9 cents add in 1 or 2 cents to cool it and  all gear runs in the red.
