Better to just leave mining out. +1 Unfortunately, verification is crucial to the system. Oh, and if they've heard of bitcoin, they've heard of mining. Go into detail on verification and difficulty, but gloss over the coinbase transaction as a trivial reward. I think they're more interested in the concept/potential application for freedom angle than the get-rich-quick scheme.

Better to just leave mining out. Mining is essential. Although I would prefer miners be a bit more concerned about what they are actually doing. Instead of leave mining out, present mining properly. Focus on distributed. |
