Up to you.
I think that you should not create node now if you are asking this question.

It's up to you mate , And it's always helpful for the Bitcoin network to have more nodes .
Read more about nodes here : http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-nodes-need/

Yes you should create a bitcoin node to support the bitcoin network ;), the upload is the best thing ... because you should 'broadcast' and validate the transaction.

PS: but also the download band is an important thing, because it will continue to downl. the btc blockchain.

Yes!  You should for sure.  Keep in mind that if it doesn't work out for you can always turn the node off.

If you expect to profit from it I would say no, don't start a new node. If you are prepared to spend money to support the bitcoin network for no personal gain I would say yes, start a new node.

Sure if your paying for the capacity and have nothing to do with the space I see no reason not to have a bitcoin node operating
Use it or lose it logic  ;)

Why not giving something to bitcoin if bitcoin has given something to you?
every bitcoiner should have a node

i have 2 vps that i didn't use anymore, but they still had a few months before expiring. which made me set up 2 nodes to support the network. i say, go for it.

Well, if you're looking for incentives on being a node, I'd say don't because there are no incentives on being a node. But if you're planning to set-up one because you want to help the network, I'd say go for it. The Bitcoin network needs more node so as to help other existing nodes broadcast the transactions made within the network. If you are not using it anymore, then create a node. It will help the network, I assure you. :)

if you don't need that vps for something else, than go ahead and do it, leaving a vps doing nothing is surely worse than establish a node with it, at least you help the network

If you have some Bitcoin and wish to see Bitcoin continue growing.. go ahead and host a new node. It will greatly help the Bitcoin network. Remember, every person count. Thus, every nodes count.

Nobody can tell you what you should do.
But, if you want to then yes you can.
It would be a great help to the network.  ;)

He does not need 'some bitcoin' to create and host a BTC node, he should only download the bitcoin core client - download the entire blockchain and open (from your router) the port *8333

*Configure your home’s router (assuming that you have one.) It’s critical that you forward port 8333 on your router to the IP address of the computer that is running your node. If you don’t do this, you will not be contributing your bandwidth to the network and should not run the node. You can check that your port forwarding works using the “check node” tool on Bitnodes.io when your node is running. If you’re running a software firewall on the machine running the node, you’ll also want to ensure that you create a rule to open up port 8333.

do what you feel. if you want to make a node then try to make one and if not, then don't
