Title: Bitcoin Faucet
Post by: BitcoinStriker on May 27, 2015, 10:21:52 PM
Hey guys,

I've got everything ready to create a faucet, except one thing.
Which hosting should I use?
I would like to start out with free hosting for the first week or until I earn some bucks to move on to a decent hosting.
Anyone can point me in the right direction?
Which temporary free hosting should you recommend?
I was going to start with 000webhost, I got everything set up there currently but I have not opened the faucet just yet, because of this issue.

Long history short, which free hosting do you recommend and which paid hosting do you recommend for a faucet? (Keep in mind the free hosting is really temporary).

I have used 000webhost and it's fine but don't use it much long, It's much better a cheap host than a free one

Thanks!
I'll use it to get my first bucks (So that I can run a faucet investment free) and i'll use those bucks to buy a decent cheap hosting.
Which "cheap" hostings do you recommend for faucets?

I don't think it's possible to create a faucet for free. You need to deposit BTC into it in the first place.

I used to own a hosting company but I stopped it. I heard that iPage is good, but I've never used them.

With needing BTC your faucet will have to have a "hot wallet".  This makes it a possible target, as it is money in it.

I highly suggest putting enough for a day or two at a time.  Do not put a ton of BTC i a hot wallet being used on a faucet or any website really.

Where do they display ads/how can I check them? I did not know that at all...

When I meant create a faucet without investment is not having to pay the hosting and such, I am well aware that I need to have some kind of BTC ready to pay.

I'd recommend http://BestHostFree.com. As evident from the following thread, a lot of people on this forum has used this service as well...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=617213.0

The main thing you need to see in a free plan is UpTime and BestHostFree beat others in this criteria. Another plus point is you can simply upgrade your free host to paid whenever you need without the hassle of file transfer, domain setup etc.

Nopes. It is absolutely ad free. But, sometimes they block free registration for certain IP range to stop spam. In that case, contact their live support on site.

It does not support free domains and the owner does not enter bitcointalk in over a month!

Anyone know a free hosting that uses no ads, perfect for faucets and supports .tk domains?
