Only a small bit of news but I always say every article & every bit of positive news regarding bitcoin is great for the community & therefore the future of bitcoin.
She's adding to the celebrity love for bitcoin, would be cool if somebody could compile a list of celebs who have outed themselves as pro bitcoin so far.

But there is no proof that she is really using it. If she is using blockchain I gues this bitcoin will really become mainstream to everyone and that will make bitcoin price to skyrocketting. There is only a little bit news about she is talking about it and that is media talking not she is talking right away so I guess we can't believe it 100%

Maybe she saw there is a thread "Lets talk of Asian girls" in Off topic part of forum and she realized need to somehow return the favor.

as i always sayd even if that news are not truth, is good for us, for the simple reason that it give us ( the bitcoin world ) more popularity.

Well in the article it didn't mention anywhere that she's a bitcoin user so it's more like a promotional ambassador engaged by branson or like a vip guest in the event. I could be wrong though but that's the way I look at it right now. Hopefully there are celebrities who are actually into the game and help bitcoin to spread the message.

I remember seeing an asian girl that was probably a journalist on the senate speech on Bitcoin in Canada I think, it was like a doppelganger. I forgot the name of the journalist but it looks like Lucy Liu. It even became a meme for a while when people started saying she was satoshi nakamoto. It sucks that I forgot the name lol.

When celebrity join bitcoin party, it sure gather more attention for newcomer who still don't know about how amazing bitcoin is

This is pretty awesome i em also a big fan of lucy. Bitcoin is becoming so much more mainstream. Its interesting because i was having a conversation will my sister on the phone and she said she was reading about bitcoin in the news paper and just that one article about bitcoin made her more interested in the concept.

I had a good laugh at that one that said it's always good to have celebrities talking about Bitcoin and its related components such as the blockchain as it increases awareness of the technology even if it is a small bit of positive news its good to hear.

Any sort of publicity is good, right now. I would have preferred Arnold Schwarzenegger or Jean-Claude Van Damme using Bitcoins... but Lucy Liu will do it for now. May be she'll be kind enough to advertise Bitcoins in her next film.  ;D Still feeling a little bit skeptical... as nothing came out from support offered by people like Ashton Kutcher, Lily Allen and Mel B in the past.

maybe its about time that bitcoin will have face or an ambassador. who who will talk in front of cameras. Maybe that way bitcoin will catch the interest of others who are not even aware of bitcoins existence.

I see this as a publicity stunt rather than anything else for winkle brothers for example have invested a huge amount and are developing an exchange so you can tell that they are actually interested in Bitcoin but lucy liu is probably a publicity stunt

Excellent news and good for her! I'm never surprised when an intelligent person believes in btc but high profile people supporting it is nothing but good for us all.
Can't see how it is a publicity stunt though. Who would pay for that? I think she's just like the rest of us, she's heard about it, looked into it, sees the revolutionary potential, has become excited and now is a btc evangelist.

In this way, more Chinese people may be keen on Bitcoin as her fans, and fans effect should not be underestimated. It's always good to have such a positive exposure in general public. If more famous and trending people are to get more involved in
spreading the word about bitcoin, it would make it a new trend amung the younger generation, which would positively affect the price
and with that, all the other aspects of development and integration would have to follow.

I just had a person from work ask me to explain bitcoin to him, because he was reading some article about it, and even tho it wasn't related
to Lucy Liu, it still shows that every day we are getting stronger in numbers. The future is bright!

For promotional purposes it is great news. Celebrities and famous people like that will make bitcoin noticeable in mass media and that is what bitcoin needs.
What makes me unsure of her intention is fact that she was promoting 'use of blockchain' - in identity management (whatever that is).
I wonder if she is another person who think that blockchain alone is great but bitcoin is unnecessary...

The exposure these stars can bring to bitcoin may be unparalleled, as they bring it to the attention of the masses, not just the techies out there.
